I'm sharing this with you all because, frankly, I thought it was hilarious. This is a message sent to Joe and also to myself.

Am I the only person who finds this guy to be, well, pathetic? I mean, check out this quote from his profile.

Naturally, he only has six stories on his favourites list. Wastelands being one of them. And his reviews for it have been absoloutely glowing. Here, have another quote.

I just find it amusing that this guy has the audacity to criticise me for one nitpicky (and admittedly arrogant sounding) paragraph from a review, especially considering he agreed with me.

If you're reading this, Joe, I love Wastelands and was just being a nitpicky bitch... Rapiers, short swords, it's all cool.

Sorry about the rant, but I needed more posts, so I figured, what the Hell? Hope you guys get a laugh out of this.

Forgive my ignorance, but what does =/= mean? I googled it but there were no search results. I assume it means something along the lines of "is equal to" but since this gets me another post, I'm going to ask.

And I was right about the sword, actually. It is strange to see rapiers in Atlantis. I mean, they were not developed until thousands of years after Atlantis fell. Though as Litany of Hate pointed out with the fact that the material of Roman swords necessitated their short length, their may be an argument to justify rapiers and the like in Atlantis. I simply don't know enough about it to say one way or the other.

Doesn't equal. That's why the slash is there. You know if you ever took math class how you get the equal sign with the slash through it means that its not equal to the number? Its like that but since there's no symbol for that on a normal keyboard you just use two equal signs with a slash in the middle.

Nah, it's all good, buddy. To be honest, beyond their initial use the rapiers/swords/battleaxe aren't going to play much more of a part. Harry's axe will, probably, if I'm stalled for a scene and opt for mindless violence, but don't worry on it.

Pretty awesome stuff. Calls ff.net on half its crap. He flaunts his hate mail from whiny useless writers who have failed somewhat miserably in the writing department. I'm also on his list of approved badass storytellers, which is only fair.

 

It just seems to me that since Atlantis is an ancient civilisation it is unlikely they'd have all the same type of technologies we have. For example, despite being far, far beyond modern wizards and magic, they did not have an advanced form of modern magic but a different sort altogether in the form of runes.

Similarily, while they may have had swords advanced beyond their time period, it seems strange they'd develop in the same course that a real cultures' did. Compare European weaponry with Asian weaponry for example. The swords are quite different, generally.

And yes, there is much fail. I've calmed down now and realised how pathetic I am. I've even got another message from Litany of Hate explaining how his profile is designed to bust egos...

Ah, that'd explain it. I've sort of forgot most of the stuff I learned in maths. I can sort of recall the symbol you speak of, but only dimly.

And yes, as I said above, I do indeed fail...
