Why oh why is Stephenie Meyer so close?! I am extremely annoyed by this.

 

Slash fanfiction was very possibly used as a measure of similar readership.

 

This is moronic, I spotted at least five that were more similar to Rowling's work than Meyer.

 

Quite stupid. Though I do enjoy Frank Herbert and Dean Koontz, and they do end up rather close together.

 

You can rearrange the map by clicking on any name shown.

With Tolkien at the center Adam and Pratchett were the closest, then King and Asimov.
Then I had the map rearrange and the next time I clicked on Tolkien Pratchett was almost at the edge of the map.

I tried the same with some more authors and the results changed every time - apparently also depending on the authors they choose for the map. There are far more names than displayed and at least a few change every time you click a name.

A test: Open the following link in three or four separate Tabs or windows and compare it: J.R.R.Tolkien
There are similarities but that's all.

Frederick Forsyth appeared twice with entirely different results: Frederick Forsyth - Fredrick Forsyth

Ok, I laughed. Although, there should be no surprise there, the books are all close enough in "quality" or the lack thereof.

Stephanie Meyer should have been close to those books

But I agree the map is not that useful.
