Saw a suggestion for this thread a few days ago in the Quarantine thread but nothing came of it so thought I'd throw it out there.

I've found I've been doing a hell of a lot more reading these last few months, mainly as a way of avoiding vegetating in front of netflix every evening.

I'd really lost my reading speed over the last several years of hardly reading, but its come back to me and I'm powering through books again like I used. Its quite a nice feeling!

Mostly the books fall into 3 categories: stuff I've picked up over the years in charity shops and finally got round to reading, revisiting old favourites, and catching up on newer publications by authors I've enjoyed in the past.

    • The Eisenhorn Trilogy by Dan Abnett
    • The Rogue Trader Trilogy by Andy Hoare
    • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling
    • The first 2 of the Rai Kirah Trilogy by Carol Berg (working on the 3rd one at the moment)
    • The Secret Texts Trilogy by Holly Lisle
    • The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
    • Serpentine by Laurell K Hamilton
    • Sucker Punch by Laurell K Hamilton
    • Pyramids by Terry Pratchet
    • Magicians Apprentice by Trudi Canavan
    • Star Wars: Darth Plagueis by James Luceno
    • Crucible of Gold by Naomi Novik
    • Pillars of Earth by Ken Follet
    • Peace Talks by Jim Butcher
    • The first 5 of the Earth's Children Sextology by Jean M Auel
All in all a respectable effort for 6 months!

My hit list after I've finished the one I'm working on is currently: Battle Grounds by Jim Buther, and then the 6th Earth's Children novel.

What have you all been reading, and what do you have coming up?

Work and my personal life (because of a move) got way busier under COVID, so I've been terrible about reading books. Plus, my habit of starting and not finishing novels has only gotten worse. Maybe if I write them down, I'll actually finish some of these.

    Finished:
    Normal People by Sally Rooney

    Currently Reading:
    Dracula by Bram Stoker
    Mort by Terry Pratchett
    Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab
