All they had to do was tease X-23, and they did more than that.

I'm so, so down with this flick.

IIRC in Old Man Logan, Emma Frost states Mutants were a genetic anomaly and are not appearing any more. Could be a similar thing here.

The timeline seems a bit iffy but thats nothing new for a Xmen film.

That last shot of them in the car was beautifully done. I want all of this right now.

this trailer made me very keen to see this. Absolutely. This is a trailer done right, without actually spoiling the climax of the film. I have questions.

Apparently the future Logan wakes up in at the end of DoFP is 2024 while this is set in 2029.

Somewhere in those five years everything went from Utopia to utter shit hole.

This is especially relevant because 2024 is the year when Trump gets his third term.

    Coincidence? I think not.

I was under the impression that 'Logan' wasn't part of the DoFP timeline.

I honestly wish they just let some movies be fun standalone things instead of forcing them all into a tortured mess of a continuity. That's not the fashionable/profitable thing to do in this age of 'cinematic universes' of course, so I'm shit out of luck.

I was perfectly happy treating First Class as a different universe from X1, X2, X3, XO:W, etc. I was not a fan of what DOFP did at all, and didn't even bother going to Apocalypse.

The less they bother trying to reconcile this one with the greater timeline, the better as far as I'm concerned.

I'll be honest. The wolverine movies have been a disappointment so far. That said, Logan promises to change that. That was as good a trailer as any I've ever seen and if the movie is even half as good it will be worth the price of admission.

    Here's to Jackman's last hurrah!

Yeah, I'm just assuming this is a fully alternative timeline.

It's confirmed to be post dofp ending. Apocalypse re-hashed the weapon-x story, so the continuity is running semi-smoothly again.

At least X-23 has got the whole Wolverine thing down and knows exactly how to get the most out of stabbing and chopping things off with her claws... by yelling/growling/screaming while she's doing it. I approve of this 2nd trailer.

So I just got back from seeing this and sweet Jesus this was fantastic. It was everything a Wolverine movie should have always been. The comedy in the few places they had it was spot on, the action was raw and brutal and just real like it needed to be and the emotional moments even had me tearing up a bit a couple times.

I can't recommend this movie enough, I'm going to see it again tomorrow and I most likely will see it more than that.

Thanks for posting this. I saw the trailer a couple weeks ago and hadn't realized the movie was so close to release.

Based on your review, it sounds this is one of the few trailers that accurately represents what to expect from the movie without also giving everything away. Sounds awesome. Looks like I have plans for today. :nyan:

I just came back from watching it too, and I am glad to note that, once in a while, super-hero movies come out that actually have some depth and character, and not just two hours of senseless action. Do not get me wrong, senseless action can be fun, but occasionally your palate calls for something with quality. Logan did not fail to deliver. The action is brutal, raw and everything Wolverine should have always been. The interactions between Xavier and Wolverine display a clear father-son dynamic, something that given their ages should feel weird, but it oddly makes perfect sense. Finally, this might only be my own observation, but I could not help but get serious The Last of Us and Season 1 The Walking Dead (The Game) vibes from the relationship between Logan and Laura.
Basically, I wholeheartedly recommend this movie and look forward to seeing it in black and white when it is released in Blu-ray.

Saw it last night at a late night screening, then had to get up early for uni and then work. Totally worth it though and I usually can't stand superhero films.

If it weren't for Deadpool I would have said it was the best superhero film I've seen in many years.
