While I agree that this is often the better thing to do, there is one problem: around these parts walking away from a debate is taken as an admission of losing. Exercising the right to remain silent is taken as an admission of guilt <_<

Exactly, I did not further my stance on the subject, all I did was clarify what I said, because Giovanni apparently did not understand. Also, you're right, Giovanni cares more, because I frankly don't care at all about this topic, it is just like any other and there are two sides to it, but his blatant trolling is getting annoying, and will not stop myself from handling that.

Now to Giovanni:

This is where you amuse me yourself. You claim me stupid, or rather naive, because I apparently hold myself at a higher esteem because of high school debate. Well, simply put you're wrong. I never said that I was better/worse than anybody else for participating in debate. Once again, I simply said I have sources that I am too lazy to dig out of my closet in my debate box. Frankly, I don't want to spend an hour and a half typing a pointless tirade about global warming, to people over the internet, that will not see my point of view no matter how clarified and refined it is. Apparently you corrected about the dumber claims I've made; one you weren't even involved with the debate, nor did you put any input, negative nor otherwise into my stance on global warming. Now, since you apparently hold yourself at a greater esteem then most, you need to find out where you're lacking; (Psst, it's your memory, because apparently you can't remember what you've posted, or what it was about.) and rectify the situation at hand. Now, if you would stop at your weak attempts to troll/flame, because frankly, you're bad at at.

 

And yet the first thread you make turns into a bitch fight where you get all pissed because people disagree with you.

Whether you're right or wrong - my personal belief is that since our data only goes back so far, and the latest geological era for Earth is 500 million years old, we really can't know for sure, though compelling data tends to make me think humans are fucking with things - if you knew anything about this forum you wouldn't take the things people so seriously.

And in other news, when I look back on when I was 18, I'm amazed at how ignorant I was; college really does tend to teach you quite a bit, and even still I know I don't know shit compared to a Ph.D or an esteemed researcher, just because I might have had to dissect one of his papers for a class presentation. If you feel that strongly about it, major in Astronomy and Physics, and do your own research.

Quite frankly, on a Harry Potter forum, not many people give much of a fuck. Write your Indy Harry story, and let people insult you on that basis.
