I don't know where it is better ,but i'm looking for a dark harry fic that he has a brother and and a younger sister and his parents live. The sister and Harry are misstreated while his brother is coddled. Before he goes to Hogwarts because of arguments with his brother her sister dies. Harry is sorted into Ravenclaw and he slowly slides into darkness because he looks for anything that will bring his sister back.

It's a decent time waster. Harry is competent, overpowered, brutal, ruthless and doesn't befriend Hermione (all yay from me). On the cons side, there's little to no conflict (except for James and Lily's ridiculous behaviour). I keep reading the updates.

 

I'm still reading it, but it is way better than 95% of dark Harry stories.
Maybe not on a level of what is recently popping up in WBA, but when you compare it to some dark stories in the library, I think it comes out on top.

I wouldn't say it has no conflict, Harry's whole life is a conflict.

The bad part is the beginning, which sucks for all the reasons that most twin Harry stories suck.

Its easily the second best non-BWL fic after Santi's.

The whole canon stuff is in the background and Harry here is super awesome. The venezuelan battle is very good.

Just skim the starting chapters if it's annoying. It gets better later.

IMO, it's very close to DLP library standard but not in it.

 

I couldn't read beyond chapter 5. It was just awful.

 

Just got current with it, and it managed to build up to being even worse than it was originally.
The dark avenger personality archetype is terrible in its roots, so I can't find any horrible off shoot of it anywhere close to decent.
It's competently written and the plot was clearly mapped so it has a leg up on the many unfinished fics currently in the Dark Arts library section, but the characterization is so up its own ass I'd rather read an abandoned B fucking minus than this soon to be completed low D.

I suppose I should have narrowed it down a little, but a good revenge fic this isn't.
I was drawing a parallel more towards Sasuke and his edgy self insert by-blows, doing wrong for the 'right' reasons. The accessible antihero.

 

It's a shame the neglected brother nonsense pops up here, because the bit about Harry getting into dark stuff on account of his sister's death sounds like a good setup on its own. Based on the first AN it seems like the author recognizes his mistake, though. I'll check it out.

 

Not one of the greats, has some potential here and there but could of been a lot better. The author was taking Zach in a half decent direction for a little bit, guilty of the way his parents treated his siblings etc then all of the sudden the author went back to pointless bashing etc.

I've read it all, and its not terrible, has some decent ideas but no where near as good as some people have stated. Almost Recommended, not Library material.

 

It's as if the writer doesn't consider the psychological impact. Wouldn't it be far more believable and create a bigger emotional impact if the parents showed care for them but in that crucial situation made a decision against Harry+Natasha and for the survival of his twin. That would be a crushing realization and still both sides would remain believable.

Anyway that's just one of the problems of the story. Harry here is a Gary Stu asshole I can't care for. His trips to Nocturne Alley including torture during the first year at Hogwarts and this creepy Slytherin prefect which tortures Draco Malfoy for kicks. I can't suspend my disbelief reading such tripe.

 

At times, I really enjoyed that fic, at times I didn't.

What I really did like was Harry telling off Hermione and the whole business with him

What I really didn't like is how fucked up the Potter Seniors are presented in that story. That seems to be the usual way these things go on if there's more than one Potter child in the AU of HP fanfics.

I wonder if he's going to be updating any time soon, after all, the main character is quite near the completion of his goals.
