Through the haze of pain in his head, Harry finally registered his situation. Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle had ambushed him in the corridor and dragged him into an empty classroom. He tried to rise but the weight on his back prevented this. His head was painfully pushed into the floor. Harry felt the heat of breath across his neck as Malfoy leaned close to him and whispered.



“Relax, Potter,” Malfoy said quietly in his ear, “You’re not going anywhere. It’s time I show you who is the dominant party around here."
Harry gritted his teeth and pushed hard against the floor. It was no good; his strength simply wasn’t sufficient to free him from whoever was on top of him.



Malfoy chuckled softly. “Struggle all you like, Potter. It will make this all the more fun for me. Besides, you smell so nice that it would be a shame to just let you go.”



Harry heard the grunting laughter of Crabbe and Goyle above him. He felt someone ripping his robes in the back. A sudden rush of understanding hit him and he tried to free himself again. Someone grabbed his hair roughly and smashed his face into the floor again. The searing sting of broken glass penetrating his face caused him to cry out in pain as his head was tilted back to face Malfoy directly.


“Tut, tut.” Malfoy said in a mocking tone. “Surely you don’t wish to leave our little party so soon. We haven’t even started yet.”
Darkness rimmed Harry’s blurred vision as Malfoy laughed derisively. A pale skinned arm rested beside his head as he slipped into unconsciousness. Harry stared at it for a long moment. The mark on the arm mocking him as his vision blackened. The skull and snake tongued image of the Dark Mark.
