I was wondering if anyone here knew of any other fic's where Harry is a male veela, preferably something along the lines of 'Secrets of the Male Veela' (shame that's abandoned) and 'Halcyon Phantasmagoria'? (I do hope that the latter isn't abandoned).

I did a quick search on the forums using the search form, but I couldn't find a thread/post that gave me the answers that I seek, so I'm hoping that someone here can help me?

Why are you looking for a 'Harry is a Veela harem-master' story? Conventional harem fare operates on just him being a decent guy with a destiny, and those writers have been able to have him knocking pelvises with every female character in the books and the Monarchy besides. There's even a recent crossover that hits nearly every sci-fi/comic universe with at least one d-cup empowered actress or icon to fixate upon.

Why are you looking for a harem fic at all? Wouldn't it be easy enough to find? Set your pairing on Harry/Hermione and rating M/NC17 and you'll find some within a page, I'm sure. (Any harem where Harry isn't a Dark Lord reconciles Hermione early on as she's so good with scheduling, you see)

Most importantly, why would you look for that... HERE?

I'm assuming you're looking for plotless harem sex. Otherwise, WAT?

 

I like the veela plot device and the situations that can be written with it, both serious and humorous. Same sort of thing with other people when it comes to Harry!Vampire/Werewolf fictions. While most of the written stories in this genre are just pointless sex fictions (not really interested in those) and Draco/Harry slash (DEF' not interested in those!), there are a scarce few out there that actually use it tastefully as a core part of the storyline.

Already searched that archive. No, not interested in pointless 'harem sex', just a well written story or two.

So, anyone know of any like that?

 

If you're not after porn or slash, I very much doubt that anything worthwhile exists. Have you thought about writing one yourself?

Or if you have a plot bunny - a GOOD plot bunny - that you think can grab a writer's attention, you could post a challenge in the relevant subforum. If it was engaging enough, I'd consider trying it myself, but I'm not exactly one of DLP's legendary figures.

 

*cackles* Good luck! All you'll really find of that genre is stories with pointless plots of sex, or of slash stories that have Draco a male veela and Harry is a bottom mate!

(sigh) Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. What is it with slash fanatics pairing those two, anyway?

 

Hate is just another way of saying repressed sexual tension.

 

Because those stories are being written by actor obsessed oppressed 12-16 year old females who just want to see 2 "hot males" have hairy monkey buttsecks (without the nasty turds and pain). They don't know how gay males actually act and think. In all honesty, men don't just turn suddenly gay and start shit like they do in these slash stories. Most of these females are so fucking ignorant of real life, they wouldn't know if an actual gay male came and kicked her in the cunt.

The HP section of FFN has the most stories posted on their website, and most of it is either slash, or Harry/Ginny stories that are mostly (and I do mean most of them) mediocre stories at best, and absolute garbage stories at the most.

The HP section as of right now, has 469,654 stories posted. And probably 75% of it is either Slash, or Harry/Ginny stories. If FFN were to get rid of Slash alone, the story number posted would probably be 1/3 of the stories. If FFN were to delete most of H/G stories (if not all of them), then it'd probably be cut into another 1/3 of that. So roughly 1/3 of the stories on FFN are not Slash or Harry/Ginny stories. Of course, I could be way off, but you get the gist of my explanation.

 

All slash is porn. Some is physical porn, and some is emotional, but it's all porn for the fangirls.

What part of the male veela plot device were you actually after - mind control, glamour, induced affection, the fire-throwing bird transformation, being part of the species, an excuse for a Fleur pairing, something I haven't thought of?

 

Or perhaps the tragic burden of responsibility for the sexual happiness of every witch in Christendom?

It could be a comedy thing- "Oops! I'm sorry I seduced your wife, Lucius. Really. Can't control myself. It's genetic, y'know?"

 

That actually sounds like it could make a pretty good crack!fic, if done by a good enough writer.

 

I remember a Male Veela Harry fic where he was with Fleur. He was the first Male Veela in a long time and Fleur took him to this Veela castle or some shit. He was then 'forced' to get it on with about six other Veela in a massive orgy.

Then I think they tried to kill him and Fleur and there was this epic battle where they eventually killed the Veela. Can't remember anything other than that, sorry.

lol That was an amusing story to say the least, even if it seemed like a crackfic in someway, and a pure smut fic also. Amusing story though.

 

So, Harry casting Sectumsempra at Malfoy in the bathroom is his way of saying, "I LOVEZ U MALFOYZ, BUTTSEXZ?"

But yeah, that makes sense.

Well, I'd say that the troubles with having induced affection (e.g., not knowing which is real and what is falsely creatured due to an allure, whether it be your own influencing other people or another character's allure affecting you), and having your own character/humanity in question if you suddenly discovered that you were primarily apart of another species are good plot devices, as well as plot devices where newly acquired/developed tendencies hinder the character from conforming to normal human/wizard society, e.g., turning into an enraged male harpy bent on flash-frying someone who infuriates you. (See Snape, Harry and Potion Lessons).

Although, I am a sucker for good Harry/Fleur fanfiction. It's a guilty pleasure that's got me whipped.

Why was it abandoned, anyway? Did the author just lose his muse for Harry Potter fandom in general?

 

He was a mod here for a while a few years back, but he got demoted for being overzealous I think and I haven't seen him in the fandom since, not that I really kept up with him but yeah.

Yes, if you made the challenge interesting enough to draw someone's attention, unusual enough to make it worth a challenge, original enough that you wouldn't simply be given a link, and detailed enough to qualify as a challenge, rather than a plot bunny.

"Harry is a veela" is not a challenge. You'd need to come up with an engaging and interesting plot, stemming from Harry's veela nature, a number of criteria for the challenge to meet, a way in which it would be, in fact, challenging, rather than just writing.

Whoever would take up the challenge wouldn't be doing it for the readers. They'd be doing it for themselves, because THEY liked the idea enough to want to write it. If you decide to post a challenge, keep this in mind.
