I only recently got into DnD thanks to my coworkers and this is too true man.



Currently playing as a Fighter and this is pretty much our DM anytime the Rogue and I do anything together

 

It’s become a running theme that all my characters end up dying.So my next pc is literally a magic sword that magically controls the person.

But my current pc is a spellblade wizard 4/rogue swashbuckler 4. OP duelist.

But drastically in debt.

Our party started pretty good alignment but we’ve all shifted to evil. Doing horde of the dragon queen atm.

I played Pathfinder with my friends in college, but that dropped off as we neared graduation and the DM didn't have a damn clue how to finish the overly elaborate campaign he had written. I played as a bard named Seal(pic related), mostly because it was fun for me to watch the other players figure out Seal is a real person and I'm playing as the man himself, not a character I created based on him. There was a player who got banned from Chon'sen's weed store, which apparently also sold the quest item she needed, so she asked me if I could go to the weed store on her behalf. Not wanting to metagame, my character did not know the actual reason she wanted me to go to the weed store, and promptly responded "Oh, so I know where to find weed!" (side note: this is a heist campaign, we are all playing as chaotic neutral or some kind of evil. I chose neutral evil.)

The DM invented this character who basically served as a way to give him more time to think of plot lines and boss fights named Anabelle. Basically, she was this magic scientist with a dimension door, and she was the only one who knew how to use it, and we needed it for a heist. She was also a bitch, so every time the DM needed more time to think of things, she would send us on a random side quest and snap her fingers at us. I got sick and damn tired of jumping through flaming hoops just to jump through them, so I suggested to the party that I put her to sleep with my sleep spell, bardic escape if it fails, but if it succeeds, we tie her up and I hit her with 'kiss of unrequited love'. Some of the other players were objecting at first, at which point I had to remind them that we're all evil.
The DM told me he would basically drop a train on me out of the sky if we ever launched 'Operation Pill Cosby'.

He wasn't completely against progressing in quests though. One time I would have failed a lock pick, the DM gave me a racial bonus.

 

Was that before or after your character got mauled by wolves at a fellow well-known bard‘s engagement ceremony?
