Wasn't the whole failed rolls leading into seducing the enemy copied from some old /tg/ greentext? I think I remember seeing that there. Also, the author of that comic comes off as if trying to score progressive brownie points. Look at that group, it's like checking off a diversity quota: black chick as the DM, Asian guy as one of the players, another one being a muslim girl (because how else can you know she's muslim if she doesn't wear the hijab) and of course the white guy is the butt of the joke because that way no one can get offended.

I enjoyed the original greentext, but this is just plain shit.

Anyway, now something funny and it's /tg/ related too.

 

The comic is just not finished - it lacks the last panel where we see Black Templars drop pods descend on the planet to liberate it from HERESY in the name of the Emperor

 

Yeah, what happened in that comic would not be the craziest thing I've ever experienced in a tabletop RPG.

 

I had a short, alcohol fueled campaign once where my friend's character's turned into a kiss and her attempt to punch someone's junk turned into a hand-job. Things escalated.

 

Well, I don't see how failing a roll to hit leads to gay sex (maybe it's a d20 thing), but I was more alluding to what @Odran said, because artists who take their characters straight from elementary school "diversity" posters probably aren't actual fans of whatever they're drawing about.

 

Odran: if you liked the original text post, then why is the comic version shit? A moral objection to making a different form of media out of someone else's story? You don't like the artwork? Or is it purely because of the diverse cast? Genuinely curious.

Anyway.

I don't object to anyone turning greentext into comics, God knows I posted a few of those myself and enjoyed them. I do object when it's poorly done, when there's more words than necessary, and yes, I do object to diversity quotas where they are not mentioned, wanted or needed.
