Complete in 10 books, this is without a doubt (in my mind at least) the best work of epic fantasy ever written. It is darker and deals with more adult themes than Sanderson's work, but nothing can beat it for sheer scope and philosophical depth. It features Sanderson like Avalanches at the end of each book, but the necessity of these epic confrontations is explained in world by the idea of Convergence, power attracts power. And then Kaboom.

This is definitely up there as one of the best series I’ve read.

 

I vaguely remember enjoying it, but never finished it - at the time I was reading, I was reading in my own language, and only 8 out of 10 books were translated, and since there are IIRC two full companies of people who don't go by names, but by nicknames, the transition to the english version was nigh impossible.

It's on my "to reread" list, though, just haven't gotten around to it.
