    Here's the 'problem':

I'm planning on buying a few manga's, namely Gunnm/Battle Angel Alita and probably Claymore too. However, I've heard some bad things about Viz's translations.

So I'm not sure what to do. I could buy Glénat's French manga's, since my French and English reading skills are about the same. Or could say 'fuck it' and just buy the English ones anyway.
(Or I could wait until my Japanese is up to the task, but that would take years...)

Basically, I'd like to have the translation that's as close to the original Japanese version as possible.

    Thoughts/advice?

Find an online translation, read the first chapter, then compare to Viz's translation. See for yourself.
