On the topic of recent casting announcements, Tatiana Maslaney has broken her silence on the news that she's been cast as She-Hulk...to say nope, not happening. https://www.empireonline.com/movies/news/tatiana-maslany-denies-she-hulk/

 

I always felt that Hulk was one of the least interesting, least relatable Marvel characters so I can't say I'd be sad if a Hulk centric series didn't happen.

 

Rona better hurry up and end cause I wanna see Black Widow somewhere in the new decade.

How many series are planned now? WandaVision, Soldier and the Falcon---those two are pretty much the only ones I care about possibly checking out because they feature main cast from the MCU feature films. Also, both of those titles sound like the titles of fluffy romance fics.

 

Wandavision isn't just planned, it's done filming entirely. Soldier/Falcon has been filming, because I've heard some updates from production restarting about it, as is Loki. Those are the only three currently officially announced in production, there are others (like She-Hulk) that aren't officially announced but are definitely unofficially announced.

 

That's actually fairly disappointing. Don't really care about She-Hulk, but Tatiana Maslany was brilliant in Orphan Black.

It should also drop in December.

Set photos have confirmed that Hailee Steinfeld has been cast as Kate Bishop in the Hawkeye show. I think I've only seen her in the Bumblebee movie, but from what I remember she was a big part of what made that the best Transformers movie (a low bar, I appreciate), so seems like decent casting.

 

I suppose it's a little weird to not announce the actors when the filming has already started, but apparently many expect it to happen in Disney's Investor Call on Thursday.

Other news, Alfred Molina is going to be playing Doctor Octopus again. He was definitely the best villain of the Raimi's Spider-Man films, but big part of it was a time that was used to make him into a full character instead of simply a supervillain. With Electro and probably others involved there won't be time for any of that this time. I won't be complaining about too many villains if Sony and Marvel will get Willem Dafoe to play Green Goblin again.

 

Hiring yet another actor from the first trilogy makes me think they really are going to do multiverse this time.

 

Andrew Garfield and Kirsten Dunst are in. Maybe Emma Stone too and Tobey Maguire is in talks. Basically all rumours are getting confirmed right now and it's slowly shaping itself to be Sony's Avengers: Endgame with all actors together.

The only question is if Spider-Man's director will be as good with getting all these characters be involved in the action as Russos. The fact that the film is already filming and Tobey is in talks at the moment suggests that they're going to be rather big cameos than significant part of the events.

 

Seems that Charlie Cox will be returning as Daredevil for Spidey 3 as well, which i didn't see coming.

 

So they're crossing over from the tv series Daredevil into the films now? Fucking hell...

 

That raises a very important question.

When is Iron Fist gonna show up in the MCU?

 

Any film involving Iron Fist is going to be a pile of shit. Just like the Iron Fist series. Hell, most of the marvel tv series are pretty shit.

 

There are leaks that Tobey is on the set and both Goblins are in talks to appear. Most of these are going to be cameos, but three Spideys better have one joined action scene.

 

If they did want to do something with Iron Fist, the Shang Chi movie would probably be the likely one, given they're both (allegedly) martial artists, right?

 

Oh, I've no issue with harking back to the previous films. Thats a nice tough. My issue is with tying in the film into the shit TV series that a comparatively small number of people have watched. However they bring in the TV characters, its going to annoy people. Either they treat them like a new character and introduce them, annoying the fans of the TV show, or they treat them like an existing character, annoying the folk who've never watched the TV shows will be confused and irritated.

 

True, but Daredevil is big enough character on its own that he doesn't need introduction. If they plan to add others from Netflix series then I agree that it's going to be an issue.
