This is more of a question for the whole Marvel CInematic Universe... What the fuck is the budget for SHIELD? 4 helecarriers, numerious bases, some of them are among the largest builds in the world and underground, massive staff and training areas... Discounting the stuff that is just unrealistic (floating aircraft carrier) just having a standard one will set you back billions...

 

When did they say that? All that I remember of her parents was that they were the ones who destroyed the village where she was found.

Edit: Remember that SHIELD is an international organisation, not a domestic one. It'd get funding from a lot of different countries.

 

All I remember is that the village was destroyed by the parents, and then the Shield team was too. I actually got the opposite impression, that's she's somewhat alien in some form, or at least an Inhuman (to be fair, not exactly a Marvel expert so a lot of my understanding comes from the AoS subreddit). I figured it would tie in somehow to how she reacts to the serum, since I doubt she'd be taken the same way as Coulson - a third person going down that path (especially another member of the team) might seem a little stale compared to other possibilities.

 

I think the only one who actually mentioned SKye's parents is Raina, when she claims it was them who were responsible for the destruction of that village.

I wonder if there's anything special about Hunan in the Marvel continuity. Maybe it's nothing, but it seems a bit odd that they never just say 'in China'.

 

I am pretty sure skye is an illegal alien, even if she is from earth. She was never made a citizen of the united states. We dont even know if she was born in china.

 

Maybe it has to do with the real Mandarin??

 

Apparently, there is a character called raina in marvel media she is from the savage land. SO the origins of skye extend from inhumans, mandarin and savage lands.
SOmeone made a commemnt about how the place hunan had to be important, as they could have said a village in china. I dont know much about the geography in china, but the only idea i have is that the inhuman city was once in the Tibetan mountains.

 

S2 Premier was good fun. They seem to have found a nice balance with the humor and action.

SchizFitz was a nice twist.

 

I'm not sure I'd call it humor and action. The show's definitely taken a much darker turn. There was very little in it that was light.

That being said, the acting has gotten much, much better.

 

Coulson being more standoffish was interesting.

Ward is going to have a redeem arc apparently.

That Simmons twist tho.

 

Nah, Ward is all about turning Skye into as much of a monster as he is.

Hence why he wanted to tell her about her father.

I like what they are doing with Fitz.

 

I hope the Simmons twist in the promo for next week wont be as obvious as it seems its going to be, maybe actually have her switch.

Starting to like the Brit merc.

 

As far as Hunan goes in Marvel, the only thing I can think of is that it's the birthplace of Shang-Chi, a master martial artist that does heroey things.

 

I'm glad that Skye is basically just a background character now.
