Last I heard this series is not set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that in the MCU Coulson will remain dead.

Has that changed as well?

 

A seconds long teaser trailer for the show. Looks like Coulson being alive is going to be a significant plot strand...or they have no confidence in the show without his fans. Either or.

 

Forget that six second teaser trailer. Have a thirty second trailer. As for Coulson being alive, it's probably just gonna be a "his death was faked to motivate the Avengers" thing, and he's now just doing his own thing. Might be that that experience is haunting him slightly, or something, thus giving a good platform for character development right off the bat!

Man, this looks awesome. Can't wait.

 

I doubt she could commit what with another upcoming season of How I Met Your Mother. Two TV series at once is pretty tough to schedule.

 

Have high hopes for it, like maybe a cameo from one of the heroes from time to time, but now we have two superhero shows on, which isn't that bad.

I want to like it, but the trailer is rather mediocre in my opinion. If it was some random TV series, I wouldn't be really interested in seeing it.

 

I always thought that this was set before the Avengers movie...

 

The ensemble cast portrayed in that new trailer is bit meh, but at least Coulson will be entertaining.

Also, I totally heard Robin Sparkles talking in the background.

 

Eh, I thought the trailer was kind of awesome. It's probably only footage of the first few episodes, so we aren't going to see a movie type trailer, but for a TV show, it's about as good as it gets in my opinion.

Joss Whedon was the only thing having my interest in this idea, but now that I saw some footage, I'll definitely be there.

The only actor I saw that I recognize from his other works is J. August Richards from Angel, which is a good thing imo. I don't like when characters bleed from one work to the next really.

 

Coulsons entrance was fucking awesome.

The rest of his scenes werent bad either.

 

...I had no real interest in this before I saw the last trailer. Now I can't fucking wait.

Do we know when it's likely to start? They say Tuesdays 8pm this fall... but that means very little to me. :/ Are we talking weeks, or months?

 

The trailer was underwhelming. There was nothing there to grab me. And the way the trailer is shot makes it look like it'll be a lower (er-compared to the movies) budget affair with more suggestion than actual action. Unavoidable but it still makes me less enthusiastic. But then, I feel the same way about the Marvel cinematic-verse in general. I'll watch it if I have the chance but I'm not burning to do so.

 

Meh. Will only watch because of Whedon.

 

The answer to dead!Phil It's already made it to canon in movie Avengers (a Stark joke while answering the phone) not to mention that this is SHIELD we're talking about. Three letters that will probably be explained somewhere at the end of season one. L.M.D. Life Model Decoy.

It'll probably wind up with him getting shot or exploded upon and *poof* LMD season cliffhanger. "We've been working for a robot?"

Depends. If it's really good it may only get 10 or so episodes.

 

The pilot should air on ABC in 24 hours, more or less. I can't fucking wait. They showed it at Comic-Con and the fans loved it. The press loved it, too, for the most part. I hope it's as awesome as I want it to be, and I hope a massive audience tunes in consistently (DO YOUR PART, DLP... for your non-American bros, too).
