    It was a good episode. The way the staff fucked them up seems to be pretty permanent too. Interesting.

    I didn't pay attention for the first five minutes but I don't think I saw anything that would count as a massive spoiler for Thor 2.

    There is a thing that happens at some point during Thor 2. Coulson's team spend five minutes helping S.H.I.E.L.D. clean up after it. Then something happens which, despite being Asgardian, is completely unrelated to the movie.

    There's less spoilers in this episode than there were in the official trailers.

    I feel like this episode is the point when the show stood on its own feet.

    Still hate Hacker Girl though.

    I agree that show is standing on it's to a point now, still compared how they billed this and how awesome Arrow is I can't really call the first half anything but a disappointment.

    Anyone else distracted by how much the steering wheel on Lola was moving?

    Coulson needs to get that fixed.

    I hope mike is not dead, if he has to die it must be against a bunch of super soldiers, not an explosion.
    I am betting they will have mike as well. if not, extremis will be healing his chard body back to full health.
    I wonder if Ward is so injured that he needs extremis to fix him. If they know how to stabilize extremis will they attempt to make more, but on their side.

    Just watched the new episode, The Magical Place, and finally we get some answers.

    Welp, confirmed for actual Coulson and not a life model decoy. Also watching that machine play with his brain was creepy as fuck. Seriously wondering what Coulson's going to do now that he knows Fury ordered him resurrected even though he was begging to be let go.

    The show is slowly becoming more solid, I think. With Coulson kidnapped, the rest of the team has to prove they actually can function without him, and it's refreshing. It helps that having big Shield mess with the bus in Coulson's absence gives them someone to close ranks against, to an extent. It's still more of a guilty pleasure show than something of high quality, but it's nonetheless entertaining.

    It amazes me the lengths this show goes to keep the Hacker relevant.

    This time it was by giving SHIELD the idiot ball and not check the financial records of the guy they already captured and had her eat up a bunch of screen time in order to bypass the restrictions SHIELD put on her.

    It's almost as though she's the viewpoint character or something.

    Bleh. Boring episode. Not even the spider surgery thing was cool enough to redeem it.

    And I despise those characters because they are unnecessary. They cause the writers to create stupid scenarios in order to keep them in focus, dragging down the quality of the show as a whole.

    So what you're saying is, you hate every main character ever? Because every show has a main character that every one feels is the viewpoint for the show.

    Castle = it's Castle
    Agents of Shield = it's Hacker Girl
    Almost Human = it's Detective Kennex
    Neon Genesis Evangelion = it's Shinji Ikari
    Naruto = it's Naruto
    Sherlock= It's actually Watson
    Firefly = It's Mal

    The point is, you hate a specific character because of the character, you really can't hate a "viewpoint" character because they're neccessary and generally the main character of the series.

    So do you only watch sitcoms and game shows or something then?

    Skye is a very necessary character, she provides the layperson's perspective. She's there to remind the audience that even though the team gets up to crazy shit every week, that sort of thing isn't actually normal. She's there so that the writers can tell stories calling out all the shady stuff SHIELD gets up to. I think she's also meant to be the emotional heart of the team like Kaylee in Firefly or Willow in Buffy, but that part hasn't quite clicked yet.

    I'm not saying she's a good character or that she couldn't be written better, but that's the role Skye is meant to fill. Just like May is the no-nonsense tough guy, Fitz-Simmons are the loveable nerds and Coulson is the wise mentor.

    Just watched episode 12, was that monologue at the end by Coulson really necessary? Also dislike the way the writers side stepped real conflict by making the Fury/ Coulson stuff off screen.
