Insert shrugs here. I loved Inquisition. If this turns into ME:I, I'll likely be getting another 300+ hours out of a game, so yay.

 

I am interested in the direction Bioware is taking. I mean the ME universe has a lot of potential for great stories. But the issue with Andromeda for me is that it's taking place in a completely new universe with a lot of the already established races and characters not appearing. They should've instead made another game in the Shepherd universe. It doesn't necessarily have to be in the same timeline ( A game set in a previous reaper cycle reallly sounds interesting) but at least they'd have a solid foundation to start with in terms of lore and world building.

But hey it could end up being amazing. Regardless it is still on my 2017 gaming list.

 

IGN are sharing the first 13 minutes of the game. Personally, I'm not watching, because I want to go in as unspoiled as possible, but it's there if you want it.

 

They've also continued with some more gameplay videos in their series, and this exploration that showcases a fun shithole of a planet has been my favorite one.

I just saw that lift in this game can play like grip in The Force Unleashed. That was fun as fuck then and will probably be fun as fuck going forward. Also, read some stuff about how the jump jets are a bit titchy, but I'm looking forward to that more than almost anything in this bitch.

As a heads up, we're up to 5/6 on the Andromeda Initiative, and if you finish it before the game you get a fancy helmet or some shit. You might as well - the videos are hyping me up. The most recent one highlighted what looks like the "handful of landable worlds" we're getting. There's a jungle world, the desert one with underground rivers, a Dextro world and a gas giant moon.

Super hyped for the combat. 2024 different ability configurations, new weapons, jump pack, looting...can't wait until release.

I hope that's not the ending because honestly it would seriously bring back my dislike for the original ME3 ending. :facepalm

 

It's a joke. The first screenshot is from the launch trailer, the middle is something from Dragon Age Inquisition and the third is just a recolor. Given how terrible Bioware has been with this promotional material lately, how utterly disappointing, asset reusing and so on, people are having a laugh at them and expecting the worst.

 

I was going to say that the second pic is from Inquisition but Odran stole my thunder.
Edit: I mean I recognized the Inquisition pic right away and the other two looked Andromeda-ish, I just didn't remember that image from the trailer, hence my speculation.

 

I'm thinking of pre-ordering the standard version. Is it worth it? Because I love the ME universe and don't want to wait till they crack it. Still it is a lot of money for a game...

 

I guess that depends on how confident you are in Bioware. I've preordered on the basis that the original trilogy are basically my favorite games ever, even if they're not perfect, and going by those games, Andromeda should provide at least 120 hours of gaming (my quickest playthrough of an ME game being around 60 hours and I'm assuming I'll enjoy this enough to play through at least twice, once for each sibling). At £54.99 in the UK, that seems like a bargain.

 

I think you convinced me to convince myself that I need to preorder it.

 

Then my work is done! (I won't try and push the collectors edition - it's nearly as much as my PS4 cost.)
