Dear God, that is something that I would definitely read.

Using this idea, Harry wouldn't be Death's Master, but instead, he would be more of an Angel of Death. And despite how lame that sounds, I can't help but run all the different scenarios througth my mind.

I'm going to keep a lookout for your little project, Sinclair. It's something that I eagerly await like a pre-teen girl waits in line to see a Twilight movie. Your idea is just so full of :awesome-ness.

Also, someone wrote a one-shot where James Potter becomes the Master of Death before Voldemort and his Death Eaters attack Godric's Hallow. James becomes corrupt because of the Hallows and kills Voldemort and his Death Eaters as well as Lily, but spares Harry so he could raise him to be the next Master of Death.

It was an interesting one-shot that would've made an intriguing novel-lenght fic. The thought that Death could whisper ideas into your head is quite fascinating.

It could make for a very batshit insane Harry where he goes off killing people because it pleases Death, his Mistress. He would've been rewarded with feelings not unlike those of euphoria. He would've decimate all who would dare try to take his beloved Hallows from him, the only possessions that matter to him. Because without the Deathly Hallows, he would lose his connection to Her, and that is something he won't ever tolerate.

That would be a pretty grim and dark legacy the Peverell Brothers would leave for their descendants. Something like an extended payback for besting Death.

EDIT: The idea that the Deathly Hallows give you a... sentient connection to Death sounds a lot like one of the fuctions of a Denarian Coin, doesn't?

It does. I played around with an idea involving the Deathly Hallows and the noose that old Nic wears, too.

Hate to do self promotion (not really) but I wrote a story where the Hallows make Harry immortal, and he travels to the past to kill some horcruxes. The story is being rewritten, and the current incarnation is kinda meh and cliche ridden (but still a good read in my opinion if you have low standards) http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5563863/1/Harry_Potter_and_the_Root_of_all_Evil

I remember reading and following your story on FFN. I really liked the idea behind it and I was always curious about those visions that Harry had about his future self marrying that blonde.

That happened in your story, right? Because it's been a while since I read it and I'm not sure if it happened in yours or not. (I think it was with that African Shaman from the Old World or something.)

On a side note, are you rewriting that Vamp!Harry/Vamp!Daphne story or what? I've never really found a good Harry/Daphne story that's not incredibly cliche or a Vampire!Harry fic that's not slash. I had high hopes a DLP member would step up and write an extensive piece on either of them. The fact that you where taking on both at once was just the icing on the cake.

Anyway, I hope you rewrite/finish it.

The plan was to finish of Root of All Evil and then work on the vampire!Daphne/Harry story. I don't think it's too hard to see who the blonde was that future!Harry married, but it wouldn't play a part in the story for a loooong time. I'm not sure if I have to rewrite the Vampire story because it's been awhile since I read it, but I probably will before I start it up again. Currently rewriting Root. Also, I started another Vampire story http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7061637/1/Darkest_Before_the_Dawn
I actually have an updated version of that chapter (after collecting input from DLPers here) but I have been waiting to post it until I finish the next chapter.

Master Of Death from MadEyes had a really unique concept. Too bad he only managed 3 chapters.

I just started reading Coming Back Late randomly, and I actually kind of like it. At first I thought it was just going to be angsty romance centered on Hermione, but around chapter 11ish it picked up and a plot started to develop. It's still a little too Hermione centric for me to recommend though. However it isn't super romance driven and it gets interesting with international wizarding cartels and some small political games. Slow in some parts, but it keeps me reading.

Oh and there isn't any real bashing. Sure some characters *cough* Ron, Ginny *cough* aren't the most like-able, but not for unjustified reasons. It isn't like the author did the typical "omg they were never really your friends, just using you" type shit.

For those who want to see Harry be bad ass master of death, there are some nice moments I've encountered so far. One that comes to mind is when he used the resurrection stone to bring back a man who had died recently just to interrogate him. It was a pretty well written scene actually, as is most of the story.
