Awesome game is awesome.

That said though I am somewhat disappointed. Looks like Mona died canonically. Ah well, the games were never really intended for the sappy happy ending crowd if the nightmares were any indication.

I dunno. The new Max looks too much like all the other shaved-head generic action heroes around today. Plus the shift from New York to Brazil is a bit... jarring.

I'm as big a fan of Max Payne 1 and 2 as anybody, but this really rubs me the wrong way. So many places where I look at it and think 'this is not the Max Payne I fell in love with'.

I'll keep an open mind up until release and hope that I'm wrong, but honestly I wish Rockstar had just left the franchise alone and let Remedy come back to it in their own time

 

^ With new engines comes style change. I mean I think 1 and 2 had that style BECAUSE of the graphical limitations.

That and it was mostly a dark gritty somewhat psychological(why hello there Max Nightmare level) New York detective story.

This one is "Max is a bodyguard now. His boss's daughter gets kidnapped. Time to kick ass(in bullet time)."

 

Yup. The dark, noir environment is the pretty much the only thing that separates Max Payne from all the rest of the games. Max Payne 1 was the first game I ever played on the PC, and I loved it. 2 was good, better even.

This? I want a dark, twisted, psycho Max roaming the streets in the night, shooting things. The environment is what made the game so special tbh, I never really used the bullet time that much. I can play other games for simple action. :|

 

I say wait till the game actually comes out before saying such damning statements. Rock Star tends to make good games so they've earned some good credit, at least with me.

 

Well today's games are all trying to get out of the "Dark Gritty BROWN BROWN BROWN BROWN" stage.
MP3 looks like its set in the tropicals? So some green. XD
