  1. Meaning It
    Author: Itzika
    Rating: T
    Genre: Fantasy/Angst
DLP Category: Independent or Dark Arts
    Pairing: None, at the moment
    Status: Work in progress
Summary: Harry realizes what Bellatrix meant. Dark!Harry, Powerful!Harry
    Link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3725298/1/Meaning_It

Begins near the end of OOTP, with Harry starting to look at magic in a different way. Pluses include minimal moaning about Sirius (other than using it to get people off his back), a Hermione who is about five seconds from going Dark, revelations that ensure Harry/Ginny isn't going to happen, and some interesting ideas.

    First: go introduce yourself.

    Second, onto the story:

The first chapter is way to short, and I dont like the mixing different fandoms into HP.

Its pretty much a standard Indie!Harry with Dark mixed in. I didnt read past Harry calling Draco "the Fea" however since I am a dresden fan and love the sidhe.

I ran into this earlier, and while it's a decent enough story to pass some time (thus it being in my Time Fillers C2) I don't think it's worthy of the DLP library.

Still, it gets better and less cliched in the later chapters.

    3/5

    Perfect trash bin material.

I gave it a fast read. It has a few fresh twists on the standard cliches.

Taure has it pegged just about right. 3/5 with future possible bonus points
    for innovative writing.

I concur with the 3/5 assesment of this story. There are some very interesting takes on old ideas and cliches that are going to keep my attention on this story. My biggest problem with this story has to be the chapter length. He has got some interesting character development going with Hermione and Ginny that I would like to see expanded upon and explored with other tertiary characters. I will definatly keep my eye on this story.

I liked it very much, while first chapter was bad, the rest was good.
The ideas are pretty original and I'm looking forward to update, I even put it on my alert list.

I found this story to be interesting. The idea of Harry having an ability that looks to be so powerful; thats a bit Cliché. However this author has spaced said power out a bit more than average, a nice touch. And as the author goes on to building it, she adds more complex abilities and detail. I did like how the wand-less magic was so difficult in the beginning.

The chapters are too short, though are of decent quality. The sentences were mostly correct grammatically but they rub me as a bit off. I'd put them as too simple for me. However that may be a plus to other people so that one doesn't count much against it.

The characterization is nicely done. The author didn't go into too much detail as to distract from the story but instead used said characterization to build on the plot. Some pieces were a bit off but that can be explained as the authors preferences, which were not too hard to swallow.

My assessment is a 3.5/5 which rounds up to a four on the rating. It is a decent story which looks to hold some potential.

I liked it. The whole 'discovering a new and unique way of magic' thing was a bit tried, but it seemed to combine a lot of the good points of these super special magical powers and cut out the crap. It's good for a light read where you don't want to hear about Harry and his uber!training for pages and pages. 4/5

    Forgets the logical questions

I think the problem with this fic is that besides the fact it reads like it will be soon left to die on the WIP stack, that Harry assumes too much. There isn't any questioning of being a mage and that other mages have existed. There should be a certain level of curiosity, and it's not there. Harry is too smug.

I kinda liked this one. As was said before, it's not an amazing fic, but it's interesting, and I'd reread it as needed when new chapters happen.

I liked the soulgaze on Hermione and Ginny (see?!?! no chance in hell of the Ginslut fucking Harry in this one!!) and I wonder if there will be anything to watch in Ron's head (sorry, I usually despise him).

The little chapter that couldn't..... Add to the story, push the plot forward, draw the reader deeper into the story. It does provide back round and history, that may be useful later, but really it's ten minutes That I will never have again.

Maybe I am a bit harsh, your mileage may vary.
