Miranda Flairgold's trilogy, starting with the aforementioned 'A Second Chance at Life'. Goddam if it wasn't chock full of objectively terrible tropes and very ordinary writing, but I'm not ashamed to admit to having read it like three times.

Seconded (Thirded?). Big up Miranda, I'm not proud of it but I downloaded one of her stories on limewire as a kid and here I am.

I legit though Hotel California was a song by Red Hot Chili Peppers for so long because of Limewire. My father looked upon me with an expression of extreme disgust when that came out.

 

That's the Psychic Serpent trilogy. The number one WORST FUCKING EVER ending to an otherwise pretty good (for the time) story. All these years later, I still get angry thinking about it.

 

I think I stalled out at the start of the third book. What was the ending?

 

IIRC Harry ends up losing both his magic and eyesight to save Draco.

 

It's just his magic, but it's because he was doing it to give Draco his sight back, because he remembered the Draco in the dimensional shift world he went to, and thought the real-universe one that's still a cunt is worth it. Fuck all that shit.

E: You're thinking of the sight thing because it ends with Dumbledore taking him outside the castle, which Harry now only sees as the ruin that muggles see it as. RAGE.

 

Oh, Jesus. How far back are we supposed to go with this? There are tons of stories that I loved at the time that are probably pretty bad by today's standards.

I remember loving Dakaath: Prince of Darkness, but looking back, it is just way too edgy for me now.

I forget who wrote it, but Runemaster stuck in my mind really strongly.

Also, pretty much anything by Perfect Lionheart. I don't hate his stuff nearly as much as most others seem to, but I can understand the criticisms for it.

Also, my story sucks, but obviously, I remember it.

Really, pretty much anything from before 2009 is probably worse than I remember it being.

 

I don't remember the name of it but I do remember some unforgettable plotpoints:

1. Evil Hermione getting gangbanged by her harem of Riddle Horcrux people.
2. Harry being half machine and chasing hermione for days through airports of the world and her dying in his arms in an oddly sweet scene.

The worst fic I've read to the end but damn was it entertaining.

Also that one time when someone linked that fic in DLP about Malfoy being a rentboy.

 

That's how I ended up getting into fanfiction. I ended up reading the whole Barb series.

It was almost as disappointing as Deathly Hallows.

As for me it would probably be Harry Potter and the Elemental's Power and A Black Bond. They've got all kinds of issues but I still love them. I also second Miranda Flairgold's trilogy.

 

I was wondering how long this would take. And yes, it is trash. I wish it weren't memorable trash.
