    Has anyone else noticed the rise of the phrase "winter solstice" as some kind of religiously neutral seasonal greeting this year? Not sure how I think about it.

    Firstly, it's inaccurate. The solstice was on the 21st. Secondly, it's a bit too politically correct. Thirdly, it isn't even religiously neutral - it's just from a religion no-one really cares about.

    On the other hand, it's a lot better than "season's greetings!". It sounds suitably festive, and has some nice Celtic associations too.
