I declare a metal thread. Let's hear the heavy tunes! I prefer thrash, death & black metal

One man death metal Haiduk kicks it off with 'Fire Wield' live

I am not a metal music person in verbal although I can enjoy it at the right time. But a few people I know who like metal listen to it exclusively.

But I listen to a fair range of music, depending on mood.

I cant imagine chilling to Metal after a long day at work with a cold drink. Can metal be relaxing to you? Or you don’t care for relaxing music?

Not quite "relaxing with beer", but there was a period of ~9 months I used to listen to metal (mainly rammstein) while falling asleep, and it was perfectly good sleep :)

I enjoy having Nightwish on my playlist. Nightwish with Tarja Turunen and Marco Hietala was the shit.

I loved the Tarja era, even more than the Floor era. Floor Jansen is probably the greatest female singer of the modern era, but there's some fucking magic in the early Nightwish tunes.

Different music for different moods. If I'm getting ready and motivated to do something, metal is the way. If I'm trying to relax, it's usually video game music for me.

I always meant to check out that Queensryche album.

Nightwish is cool, I remember one song with Tarja that was based on the Dragonlance books - "Wishmaster".

I've gotten very into Zeal & Ardor the last couple years; excellent live band too.

    Rotting Christ

Jonathan Young does some excellent covers of Disney songs

I also listen to a pretty broad range of music depending on mood, but if I'm stressed out and trying to relax, I will specifically go to metal. It's kind of a 'let the music be aggressive so I don't have to be' vibe, for lack of a better description.

I'm really liking bloodywood. It's a nu metal band based out of New Delhi. They bring in a lot of Indian instruments and melodies to their songs, along with rap.
Best viewed with subtitles unless you know Hindi.

I've seen the Hu live twice, and they were really exceptional. Managed to get autographs on the ticket, which is... somewhere in my room.

Skald are also pretty good, although unsure if I'd class them as actually metal? I do normally dislike the very strict "oh it's at 134bpm, so it's not actually DnB, it's Scouse Bang",

    And have to mention Ghost.

Dan Vasc has done a lot as well, so much so that I'm tired of hearing him. I do like Violet Orlandi even though it seems like she's done a lifestyle 180.

I've been on a bit of a Lorna Shore kick.

Or if I want to go back to high school

If I want to listen to something a little less violent with lyrics I can actually understand, my favorite band is Sabaton, and imo this is their best song (dont @ me)

I listen to a lot of symphonic stuff too.
