    Relevant necromancy.

I randomly checked and the show dropped season 2 last month. I'm binging it today. David Fincher directed three of the nine episodes. I think the interviews with serial killers will again be the highlight, I'm just watching the first one now, in episode 2.

Season 2 was okay but didn't have the same impact as season 1. I'm not saying it's terrible but some aspects of the MC left me wanting to bitch slap him.

Interviews with the killers are definitely still the highlight, especially the guy who plays Kemper - I think season 2 erred with too much focus on the personal lives of the main characters, which simply aren't interesting at all to me. Still an enjoyable show though, I'll definitely still watch the next season.

I think the kid being part of a murder was actually really interesting.

The whole thing left me feeling cold. I didn't dislike it, but the conclusion left me disappointed and, as said previously, I couldn't care less about going into their personal lives. It felt like padding.

The subplot with Bill's kid was interesting and it obviously played into how he acted at work, but it was slow-moving and didn't go anywhere. I wasn't wildly into the Atlanta thing. Less focus on serial killers, and it seemed like there was more political bs in this season that could have been skipped in favor of exploring the work of the BSU more. I didn't much care about Wendy's love life either. The BTK killer was teased (as he has been since S1) but wasn't focused on, which hopefully means at least another season, but overall, yeah, have to agree with the consensus. Still a good show, and it has that Fincher vibe, but not as engaging as S1.

Tbh I'm just starved for anything live-action from David Fincher. His next feature is apparently a biopic.

I thought the show had an interesting viewpoint on how people consume media surrounding criminals. It kept showing the people who are only interested in the crimes because of how fucked up and "fascinating" they are as morally wrong. I'm thinking of the dudes at Bill's BBQ, the old guys Bill talks to at the Lodge, and hell even Holden himself--all these people hold a strange fascination with the killers' heinous acts and don't seem to care as much about the victims.

This is the show putting a spotlight on the audience. It's saying "Why are you so interested in the killers?" You see it in this thread, too "oh, the killer interviews are the best part." I don't know how good the show actually is but I appreciate it taking a stance on crime and how the media portrays it rather than just being another serial-killer porn exhibition like Criminal Minds or any of the litany of true crime podcasts.
