I'm not sure - have you changed your version of BiomesOPlenty to the version the server is using? Followed my setup in the OP?

Yeah, looks like it went down at some point over the last four hours. Should be up again shortly.

 

Uninstalled MC and FTB. Reinstalled. Downloaded Minecraft 1.6.2, Unleashed 1.5.2, installed all the disabled mods (with the two exceptions left out). Replaced the jar file.

Get quite a bit of yellow/red text, by the time it launches I have:
Minecraft 1.5.2
MCP v7.51
FML v5.2.23.737
Minecraft Forge 7.8.1.737
Feed The Beast Mod Pack, 123 mods installed and active

I've forced updates and ran it as v.1.1.3 instead of Recommended (from the launcher) everything ends up with me at the title screen with an out of date Minecraft :/

 

Yeah I get that out of date message at the title screen. It doesn't prevent me from joining the server. FTB is one version behind MC.

 

Thats.. really weird. Its stoppin me. Maybe the port number? Hmm.

I can. And everything seemed to be running fine. Something on my end just seems to be going FTB 1.5.2 =/= Server 1.6.2 and stops the connection.

Could you tell me exactly what your error message says when you try to connect, Kalas?

Have you tried seeing if you can connect/the error messages you get when you try to connect to the server with the plain pack without my changes?

And make sure you've got the right IP. Morty had a server once that seemed to have a special invisible character in it, somehow or another, so if you copy and pasted it it worked just fine, but if you typed it out manually it wouldn't work.

And thanks for the reporting back on when you can't connect, guys. There still doesn't seem to be a pattern to it at all.

 

Up this late? Oz, m'darlin', I'm up early. Woke up at 3am. Refreshed and ready to face my day.

I'm with Nitrous Networks. It's been a bit spotty so far, but on the whole not too bad.

 

So, we need an experience farm on the server something awful. The best thing to use for a grinder is blazes, as they give twice as much xp as other hostile mobs. After messing around on creative, however, I have concluded that I have no idea how to make a blaze farm. Now, if somebody finds a double skelly spawner (or a zombie-skelly, or double zombie), I'm your man, but blazes go over my head.

Still, for any would-be designers, I would say it should be made in the overworld and near the village we've started. I'd be quite willing to help out, it's just the designing that I can't do. Any takers?

 

Just a reminder to anyone wanting to join in:

Be sure to follow Palindrome's instructions, and enable the mods she tells yea to. We've had about 4-5 people join and immediately get bounced today, and best bet is that they forgot to activate the mod's that aren't default.

 

Important stuff: In the Nether Hub, we have a portal up to the Mining World - use this world for any automated mining, like quarries or arcane bores. If any of you want a link book to/from the nether hub then just let me know.

@mknote: If we get a good tier blaze soul shard, we can just set it up anywhere in the overworld. Now, the design depends on how the spawner functions - if it keeps spawning despite there already being mobs in the area, then it's just a simple room with a way to move them only as far as a killing area. Like water. If the efficiency of the spawner is impacted by no. of mobs around, then have a way to move them out, some drop, and then move them to the killing area.

Turtles can automate xp collection; give 'em swords and the mobs will drop xp.

Has anyone tried getting the corrupted essences for the soul shards yet?
