Not sure if I can run it on this toaster of a computer, but I'm game to give it a shot.

I just installed FTB and it is laggy as hell. I have allocated 4.5 gigs of ram to it. And I am using default texture pack and I even tried to lower video settings. Tekkit worked fine for me.

Any idea what could be the problem?

That is bizarre. Only thing I can think of is interference from the recent update.

I ended up installing Optifine and there is a significant improvement. Any FTB servers you guys frequent?

I'd be up for some skyblock PVP. Sounds like fun times.

^ That makes 4. Any ideas where we can do this? We will only need a server for like 2 hours max I guess. Can any of you host on your PC?

I have a rig and connection that's good enough for something like this, so I'd be willing to host. You'd have to talk me through it though since I've never done it before. I'd also need the map pack for whichever Skyblock version we're using.

First, we need to decide on a map. I downloaded and tried these four maps.

They each have their strong points and if this works out maybe we will end up playing all of them, but I can't decided which to go with first. So all 3 of you should download and try them. Just post here which one you prefer and we will go with the majority.

Also, for faster communication add me on steam if you haven't yet.

I think I prefer this one (ie the "four" link above). The big fancy map originally linked with the center tree and biome islands looks pretty sweet, but whoever starts out on the desert island would have a pretty big building handicap what with minecraft sand physics and all. The other two are a bit sparse, but maybe that's a plus.

I guess what I'm trying to say is we should play all of them.

Did anyone else get an error when trying to unzip this 4 player file?

I found the one Dumb and Dumber used. Link

EDIT: Or not. That map sucks, don't use it.

Vanilla has been awesome for me since a few of the client side mods I use get wrecked in things like Tekkit and such.
