So, Brandon Sanderson announced via Twitter and his blog that he is working in conjunction with Little Orbit games to produce an action-RPG video game based on his Mistborn novels, set hundreds of years prior to the original trilogy in the early days of the Final Empire. Sanderson will be writing the story and dialogue.

I'm...cautiously optimistic. I don't know anything about Little Orbit off the top of my head, but certainly the 'magic' system of the Mistborn-verse would lend itself well to a badass game, and if Sanderson's doing the writing then at least the story should be good. In all honesty, I'd be tempted to pick it up just to get the story and history, unless they really fuck up the gameplay.

Busy Scissors by Little Orbit. This is the company making Mistborn. Hows that Optimism going, Savage? Mine died the moment I googled the company and found that.

The only thing keeping me looking into the progress of this is the fact that their Sherlock Holmes iOS game looks like Holmes is based on Hugh Laurie with an afro.

 

What is that shit.

 

I have high hopes for this but I have a terrible feeling it will flop. Sadly. Because this book could make an awesome game.
