    Hello, ladies,

I know this isn't related to the forums, but I figure there's an awesome wealth of knowledge here at DLP that I'd be foolish to ignore. Here's the deal:

Connecting PS3 (60GB) to monitor. New monitor is Samsung P270H. It has DVI and HDMI ports. Now, I planned on just connecting the PS3 to the monitor through HDMI, and after some fiddling around yesterday I got this to work. I had to select HDMI output in the display settings on the PS3 itself while it was plugged in via component to a TV.

So we're working at this point. Great, right?

Today not so great. I can't get a picture, or even a black screen. The monitor won't find the PS3. None of the connections have changed. All I did was set up audio through av component, which shouldn't change anything, really.

Still, I unplugged audio just to see if I could get picture back on the monitor, but no dice. Started from scratch and still nothing. Why would it work one day then fail the next, given that all I did in between was switch it off overnight. Frustrating.

    Any insight?

    Thanks for any help offered.

I don't know Joe, but since no one else has responded at all...

Maybe give http://hardforum.com/ a try. They've had decent answers to every hardware-related question I've ever come up with at least.

    I didn't respond, because I don't have a PS3, but some quick googling and...

Have you tried a factory reset of your PS3? It'll put all settings back to defaults. I hope you remember your PSN login details. If you follow the full reset instructions, then you'd format your disk too. I'm not sure whether you have to do that tho. I'd try to skip that step if I were you.
