That completely ignores the comparison to Nazis that JKR set up especially for this.

Muggleborn = No magical lineage (or at least traceable magical lineage).
Half-Blood = 1 muggle parent or more than 1 muggle grandparent.
Pureblood = No muggle in direct lineage for x generations.

It's the muggle grandparent part that is the important one, since the Nazis decided if a person was 'of Jewish descent' by whether any of their grandparents were Jewish.

Exactly. Also, it shows a disturbing lack of knowledge of the fandom that she was reading about. It's one of the key similarities between Harry and Voldemort, for example. I sent her a polite reply pointing this out, but she never responded.

Worst thing? Her username suggested she was a teacher...

    Full Blood?

"Malfoy!! You ponce, I'm a full blood Wizard!"
    "Full of mud Potter!!"

At least the review isn't ranting and raving about how Harry is really gay and emo.

How is it, exactly, that we got from grammatical errors to blood definitions compared to JKR?

I've lurked for a long time here, and just recently created my account, but the way things just spins out of control in some of these threads baffles me.

Oh, um, Merry Christmas. Or Kwanza, something like that...

That's some pretty elaborate shit Aekiel.

    Cute.

HA! Ron married Hermione! She may not be a complete Muggle but she's just as bad! (And wouldn't her parents be added to the family tree, or...?) Now those bastards aren't completely pure anymore! Bill may have gotten Fleur (poor, sweet Fleur...), Charley may have gotten Tonks (NOOOOO!), and Ginny may have gotten Harry (WHY!?!? FUCKING WHY!?), but Ron spoiled them. There is hope yet!

OK, I'm done. Hoping to start on my introduction sometime soon.

    Wait, what?

Charlie (the correct spelling) never got Tonks. Remus/Tonks? Remember Teddy? Only Molly was interested in getting Charlie and Tonks together.

I'd have preferred Charlie/Tonks tbh. Always got the impression they were around the same age at least. >_>

Not really, it's established fact that the Nazis determined whether you were Jewish/Gypsy/whatever through immediate family (which grandparents were at that time), and JKR based the Death Eater ideals on Nazi ones.

That's the way it works, though Ron would still be a pureblood by their logic; he'd be a blood-traitor and his/Hermione's children would be halfbloods.

Also, I'd have added in insult or two in there (just to keep up appearances), but I've got a monster headache right now so just imagine I called you an idiot or a fuckwit at some point for me.

Molly hoped for Bill/Tonks because she didn't like Fleur.

Right? Nothing puts a damper on the enjoyment of Harry Potter quite like reading the actual books (the last few, anyway).

Instead of "biggest errors in FF" why not "biggest errors in canon?" I recommend the whole disarming a wand from it's owner makes said wand yours thing. Probably the most dissappointing end to a series ever. I also agree on the book 5-7 thing; fuck preparation and training lets worry about Ginny and horcruxes.

We've all seen and discussed the Definitely/Defiantly thing already, but I haven't seen anyone mention the disturbingly rapid rise of the abomination: Definately

What the fuck? It's like some weird hybrid of Definitely and Defiantly created by people who know there's a difference, but can't remember it, so they made a combination of the two as a way to hedge their bets. Though, admittedly, I've only seen it in place of Definitely.

Now that I've bitched about errors, on to the off-topic replies.

It's been done. There was an H/Hr fic (discussed here) where Hermione (literally) revealed to Harry that she had some extra equipment.

Must have made that second year Polyjuice accident even more confusing to sort out.

The story didn't come across as fangirl-ish (if a bit fluffy), though, and there was no sex. Though Harry did have a nightmare about being subjected to some Surprise Buttsechs™, which was rather lulzy.

This is the same fandom that regularly writes stories where Harry and/or Hermione suddenly turn out to be purebloods and espouse how much more awesome they are now because of it.

All the while, completely undermining everything useful JKR put in the books about prejudice being bad and how people's worth comes from their actions, not an accident of birth.

[Note: I can only assume they completely miss the moral in their rush to write their masturbatory wish fulfillment scenario. And since the author is a muggle, naturally, and wishes they were magical, their thinly-veiled author avatar cannot be tainted by any trace of mundane lineage.]

Then they usually make it even worse by pairing the newly pureblooded character with the racist that, up until this revelation, hated their guts.

Makes me want to choke someone... :splatter:

Since this odd combination of subjects makes one ponder the hypothetical: Yes, if I had to make a choice, I'd rather read about Harry coming to terms with the fact that he's dating dickgirl!Hermione any day of the week, than some piece of shit where airhead!Hermione discovers she's a pureblood and rushes to choke herself on racist!Draco's cock because, since she's no longer a minority, his flagrant, murderous, bigotry doesn't bother her anymore.
    --

AFAIK, "fullbloods" are merely a fandom convention created by people who wanted to draw a distinction between people like Harry, who had two magical parents, though one was muggleborn, and people like Snape, who had only one magical parent.

In the racist's eyes, both of them are tainted, so there's no need for distinction, but it's not just the racists who use these terms, so it is conceivable that some one out there in the HP world would want to draw a distinction, if for no other reason than for genealogical purposes.

Still makes anyone who tries to tell you that you fucked up for not using their made up terminology a complete douche.

Fuck no! JKR's Weasley obsession ruined enough in the books already, I'd march on Scotland if they got Tonks too (dead or alive).

Doesn't afraid of anything! Oh shiiii-

Well, I don't like Remus/Tonks any better, but at least he's not another Weasley. *shrug*

You'd think the Wizarding World revolved around Molly Prewett Weasley's overbearing arse (or the gradually expanding event horizon where her vagina used to be).
