Hmm, yes, "check this game to see how Fonti and I wolf" is crap. You guys've been around the block enough to maybe be capable of more than 1 exact strategy.

I don't buy the rest either, but it seems I'll be spending time defending myself again so whatevs for now.

As to my reads (as of the time of the list):

Rubi's basically a carbon copy of his WH9 self. Owner's market Rubi was a bit robotic coming back to things and WH8 was closer to that in scum form. I haven't seen anything concerning from him, so confident town for now.

Miner's not a copy of himself because he's been trying different styles for the last 4(?) games now. However, scum!Miner has misplaced confidence and bravado, and usually a couple of buddies/sparring partners in the thread for that sweet interaction. He's in his own little corner doing his own thing now. That's very much not scum!Miner imo.

Fable is where I always put him. Really though, this group with Asmo and Delphine, they're all doing reasonable things with nothing pinging me. I have suspects elsewhere, and no such feeling of semi-OKness for Fluff and GH, so they're fine for now. Don't want to lynch them right now, so light town.

Fluff is where you guys go " But you said this is his town meta, so you have to townread him!!!!". That's crap. Yes, Fluff's a low poster. Yes, his scum game I've seem he was more active. So that's his meta, that's just out there. Why the fuck does that mean he's town here? If there was ever a playstyle that's easy to fake, not doing anything would be the one. So him not having done anything to make me read him town leaves him null. I later said I'd have expected him to throw in a line or two somewhere because there's usually some kind of regularity to his sparse posts though, and the time for one felt like it had come and gone.

GH hadn't done terribly much, and I have 0 on him to start with. Just null.

Beru's coasting hard. I get not being in game mode quite yet. We were all feeling that at the start of this game, it was a bit slow. But it feels like more than that from Beru, like even their own posts aren't good enough to get them into it. Which, admittedly, they're pretty bad. Something just feels off there, a disconnect in mindset and confidence level.

Fonti I felt good about, until the fake Miner thing. I was already suspicious of Jan, and noticed a difference in how they were acting towards each other compared to other games (ie, they weren't interacting at all this game). That's plenty of suspicious behaviour for me, and the fact that I've yet to land on the right side of a Fonti read makes it easier to reverse there.

So there. 89 post catch up inc. (89? Thank god this game is so much slower than the last 2/3.)

I like this post. I can buy GH having this thought (people have obviously been thinking it of me for a while, it's also true) and checking it should indeed show that I case people for others most of the time, since I'm alread of that mindset. This is an interesting difference with what Rubi said later actually, about me talking myself around on people sometimes.

My process:

I have a scumread on someone from feels and particular posts.

I reread from Iso and make the case following the ISO chronologically.

If the case doesn't hold up to my feels, it shows, and I can reverse midway through. I've also been known to power through in earlier games because I had the thing and didn't want to seem too... uncertain? Not confident?

If it does hold up, it can read like a narrative, like I'm trying to make that person SEEM scummie. I thought they were scummie, and I'm grabbing at things to substantiate the feeling.

This is very different from the "from scratch" cases a Newcomb or a Reg makes, and what people here are likely to follow.

I'm glad I could finally clear this up, if not for any of you than for myself. I've been struggling with this a bit.

However; we have a post. Possible reasons for the post are either 1) the spew and everything we've had going on, or (2 coincidence. If there's a motive for the post to be easily detected, why chalk it up to chance?

We should lynch Jari because we're going to lynch Jari. Oh, also Delphine and Fluff. We should totally lynch everyone I can get away with.

The reason for Jan and Fonti not interacting with each other is legit. If Fonti really was reaction testing with the Miner thing, which is not unthinkable, she could easily be town. Don't think Jan's interactions with you make him less scummie.

That entire GH post feels like he's forcing himself to post anything at all to be involved. That in itself could be scummie, but it's townie in that there's no angle to it. It has a footnote feel to it, a wanting to be part of the conversation but just not really feeling it yet. Scum would just fake it I think.

 

I don't understand why this gets posted except to try to get townread, and I don't like later on how many words get wringed out of it later on.

Quick note on my activity since I have a minute before my session resets - turns out I'm going to my SO's parent's house for the weekend so I'll be able to be more active on D2. I otherwise have 50 min library sessions that

 

I was talking with people I knew in that one + it was around D3 (D4) of a very intense game. For someone who bothered to do the dive I feel like you should know that the context was pretty different.

 

Fake it as in, sound less detached, more in the flow, stand out less.
