Can you expand on your reads a little bit more? Like, more than just a sentence would be nice. Especially something about the Delphine read, because it seems like it's just contingent on other people. Also, I'd like to know where the "hard defending" is. As far as I can tell, that's only Fable. Saying that you're reading Delphine scum for not posting when she's literally not able to is bad isn't really a defense? Your read on her and what you're calling my "defense" of her are both based in something that shouldn't have any bearing on the game. Actual reasons. Now.

 

I'm in the process of rereading your ISO. Your read progressions on different players are a mixed bag.

I'm dropping the beru thing. Rereading your interactions with them, a couple things make it seem more plausible to me. The biggest one is that they ignored #618. You digging in your heels after that would be pretty natural.

I also missed the qualifiers on your early read that they were town "for now" and "too little so far to be confident" and thought you were doing more of a 180 degree turn than you actually were.

On Jarizok, though, I think you wanted the credibility for white-knighting a town player. The read progression here is just really weird.

You consistently call him town without ever explaining why, just "tone" and "because you see more reasons for him to be town" (but what were those reasons?), sometimes deny even having him as a townread, but then talk about betting he's going to flip town.

You say you can "see where he's coming from" (never engaging with his posts directly though) and disagree with all the points against him (without responding to those points, except on the activity tell thing). It reads like TMI to me.

This is the core of my Fable read:

At some point I need to ISO him and get a more solid grip on things, but my overall impression is... he's focused on scumhunting, putting in work, and not doing those things in a way that seems crafted just to make him look town.

One other thing that pinged me Asmo - you talked about reading the Invitational game to get meta on beru, fonti, Jan and me but that never really went anywhere? What did you get from this?

 

Honestly? I don't know. My initial townread was because he felt overagressive in a way that is outside his scumrange. Later I realized half of that was more me projecting because he somewhat tilted me at the time.
And after that he just felt - boring?

Fable as scum is the most dangerous when he can coast by in a way, which is what I am worrying about right now.
Not coasting as in not posting, but coasting as in normal play that looks towny, but doesn't do anything for me.

Will have to reread through his d2 again to see if it is just in my head.

I have between 3 and 4 strong townreads now and just need to lock down that last little bit to basically have the easy win without scumhunting win-condition.

 

Nice to know my two speeds are tilting or boring.

 

The day one "different" stuff was merely me attempting, for the first time since like my very first game on this site, to read fonti. It failed, but w/e.

It was also a sort of reaction test to all players who are familiar with me and how I play. There's some stuff that I did that would be very ??? if people knew town!me, but I laced it with like, an actual push on fonti and stuff that could be seen as townsiding. Rubicon gets town points from correctly pushing this. But he also kinda ruined it.

It's also part of the reason why I wasn't super against lynching Jari, although Jari is correct in that he has been the person who has been the best at reading me for the past 4-5 games now. IIRC he was the only one correctly scumreading me early in RWBY. Honestly I kept waffling over whether or not Jari was actually really just good at reading me or if he rolled scum again.

Rubicon and Miner are mostly a continuation from yesterday.
Both haven't done anything to change my mind.

Miner is not actually a read I feel 100% about myself, but I know Jari hasn't been wrong on him in a long time and fonti was dead certain on miner being town too. Plus I have no reason to actually think he is scum.
Have to look at the pushes on him today and how genuine they are, but haven't done that yet.

Delphine was towny d1, just had that activity problem, because of a lack of internet.
The way she continued today made me even more sure that she is just town.
When people started questioning the fact that she was a bit single minded which might be scummy, she didn't branch out to appease people, but she continued the focus on gh in a very town way.
Sure she talked about others too, but the gh part felt like an obvious focus, similar to d1.

 

I agree about Delphine.

If I can also get words on Rubi, that would be nice.

Miner is a witch.

I think there is a good chance you are just not town, but I don't think the thread will allow me to lynch you.

Which means finding 5 town that I am sure in, lynch the rest is the other option.

Right now I have to decide which two of Asmo, Fluff and Fable are part of team-town.

That is why I asked Rubicon earlier about his read on Fable, to maybe help me with that descision.


I honstly think fluff is still just town.
There are some small things about his d2 that I think is less likely to some from scum!fluff.

When I asked him about his 3 scum/town and he copy pasted the same lines for the read on Rubicon and myself.
I don't think that is a thing he would ever do as scum.

His faulty read on Delphine in the same post is another thing that is so unlikely to happen.
Not that any of those things could not happen to scum!fluff, but it is just too many things. He would be somewhat more careful about that sort of thing.

His first post was likely twtbaw. Drawing attention in a way I don't think he would do as scum.
Two of my towntowns in delphine and Fonti (well fonti is now confirmed) read him town in a similar way, saying that they are reading along and agreeing with the things rubi was saying most of d1, which is a pretty big towntell.
I had problems with one thing somewhat early which made me unsure, but everything else was just good and I don't see that being scum!Rubicon overall.
