I feel like the problem here is that you think it's impossible to approach the subject objectively? Which granted that yes I would already know the answer isn't unreasonable to think but I don't think it's true 100% of the time either.

I think there's value in doing it as long as you let the other person do most of the talking and make it clear that the intention is to have them clarify things about the read and make sure they're not misreading anything or just being lazy about something.

I don't think "I'm going to talk to you until you change your mind and tell you why you're wrong" is at all useful.

Possible to approach the subject objectively? Sure.

Believe that you're doing so, in the middle of a game where I'm scum reading you? Not so much.

Once you start getting into a discussion on the details of the read on you, every problem previously mentioned comes up, because you are not unbiased about yourself and in a game explicitly about deceiving other players it would be foolish to believe otherwise.

Yes - we ought to assume people are acting in good faith when they play and for the most part I'd say we do, but asking that to cover 'person talks about themselves' is a bridge too far.

I mean agree to disagree then?

All I can tell you is that I know from experience it's not an impossible thing to do so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Just wanted to say that I really appreciate these postgame talks about playstyle clash/good communication. I love that the community here is cognizant about such things and takes the time to talk about them, since I think that keeping the game fun even though Mafia is an inherently stressful game is important.

Man, I need to start playing games on DLP again.

I can see how deeply you feel on this matter by you talking about him to us, rather than to him.

    You just...

He's already gone in your mind, yeah? Poor thing.

    Stop saying, start doing.

I'm signing you up for my next game so you don't find an excuse not to play.

Speaking of which, signups will be going up in a day or three.

    Yeah yeah, slot me in.

Don't let me sign up to replace but then not replace when the game gets going.

Don't worry. Already said you were playing! You just assumed you had a choice in the matter.
