I'm on a Supernatural kick at the moment, so I vote for that. Give them a real budget and see what they come up with.

Look at the name, it should be obvious.
The Lies of Locke Lamora is getting it's own movie, but I have very little faith in Hollywood, to capture he epicness of the book.

Supernatural with a budget damn, that would be awesome. If they can do what they do with the little amount they have I can only imagine what they can come up with if they had some more. The dead rising Armageddon me thinks.

The Way of the Shadows by Brent Weeks.

The opening scene demands to be cinematized. A street urchin is crawling between the floorboards of a building and the muddy ground, scavenging for dropped coins while a scuffle is being waged above.

That is awesome.

Star Wars: Wraith Squadron Series, and

Star Wars: Starfighters of Adumar

I think that If these ever got put on TV or in theatres it would reverse the "Bad Star Wars movie" trend.

Basically, they are the only EU books with decent characters that you gave a damn about, believable intelligent action, damn funny parts, and no sucky bits.

all Hail Lt. Kettch!

"We're going to try to subvert an Imperial admiral"
"Oh," Hobbie said. "Something easy. While you're doing that why don't Wes and I smuggle ourselves onboard
Agonizer and destroy her with thrown rocks."
Wedge gave him a grin. "With the right tools-say, a hundred thousand ewoks and a month to prepare, you could probably do that. In the meantime, we have the right tools to subvert our Imperial admiral."
"What tools?"
"Oh, Wes's maturity, your optimism and my diplomatic skills."
Hobbie buried his face in his hands. "We're doomed."

Star Wars Ep 7,8,9 were good. Grand Admiral Thrawn was a good EU character.

Was the Thrawn trilogy ever called "Eps 7-9"? I just thought they were all part of the EU...

No they weren't, officially at least. Though I'm sure many fans would want them as the sequel. It'd be a sight better than episodes 1-3, at least.

The Star Wars books about Darth Bane would make wonderful movies, along with KotOR.

Everything 'Star Wars'-related would make for a good movie.

Not if the last three movies were anything to go by they wouldn't. Seriously, if you can't keep up the quality of the original series then you don't need to make more and ruin it.

They weren't that bad. Sure, Jar-Jar and Hayden Christensen's amazing lack of acting skill were epic fail, but the movies also had some good moments. Like Palpatine and Obi-wan, for example. Of course they didn't reach the myth status of the original trilogy, but that was hardly possible from the start.

I'm surprised no one has gone with the obvious choice. Serenity 2.

I know it's been awhile since this was posted but wouldn't you agree that Fallout3 is more of a game adaption of Mad Max? I mean all this post apocalyptic stuff with cannibalistic raiders?

And about that Dead Space movie: I think it would lean more towards the shitty Doom adaption with The Rock than Resident Evil (after all we got Silent Hill for that).

OP: Der Kreis der Dämmerung (Circle of Dawn in English). Sadly it has only been translated into Spanish so far. Its about a boy named David Camden who is born as a Century Child (which appear whenever the balance between good and evil tends to shift in favor of one side) and has exactly 100 years to stop the above mentioned Circle of Dawn (the organization formed by a near immortal named Lord Belial) who aim to create a new world to their liking. Not a very original goal mind you, but the way the books are written is just damn believable. It basically shows how the Circle of Dawn influenced major happenings in the twentieth century (such as WW I and II, the assassination of Ghandi,Kennedy and Martin Luther King) and how David Camden tries to counter them. And all that is done in a way that could make you think that it really happened.

I know this will be rather useless to the majority of DLP, or at least to those who don't speak either Spanish or German but for those who are to some extend fluent in one of those languages I can only say that it is a MUST READ.

Thanks

Can't believe I didn't think of it before.... a sequel, with less action, more character development than Serenity.
