In this thread, I school you all in the game of MudChute.

    Standard Competitive Rule Set

For you more amateur players, this comprises of:

    • Liverpool Rules
    • Mortimer's Conversion
    • Thornton's Third Amendment
Also, due to the constraints of the internet, we'll have to play street level rules and obviously, for our international competitors, the Northern League Version which expressly permits Cloistering.

    AMMENDMENT:

Mindless insisted on a Second Prohibition, so remember, that means No Double Taps!

    I'll start with Barons Court.

Personally, I prefer the Polish Variation of 1957, but if we're going to keep your rules, I'll have to firmly request the Second Prohibition come into effect.

And what a bold move, Baron's Court. However, it leaves you quite open to a lateral shunt, discounting a standard loop. I shall counter with the ever-popular Brent Cross.

Second Prohibition it is. Also, clever opening, I'd expected a move from Chalk Farm.

Count me in, I suppose. Haven't played a good game in forever. I'll set myself up at Chorleywood.

On the aside, I seem to remember a few of the Loop Amendments being tinkered with in the Liverpool Rules. Care to set me straight?

    It's really rather simple.

I'll play to Holborn, to intercept the Docklands Light thorough fair there.

A particularly dubious move. I'll cite the Einstein-Tchaikovsky Double of 1963, and perform a border shuffle to Horton-in-Ribblesdale, which grants me the little-known Twin Turn Option, which I shall use to take me on a particularly daring loop to Dollis Hill. I'll tie up Barnoldswick yet, lads.

Dubious, perhaps, but the move works.

I'm going to play a triple shuffle over to Watford and, in accordance with Engleburt's Blanket Rule Amendment of 1988, slip in through to Moor Park.

I've been told that move is risky, but I feel that the tradeoff is worth it.

This time, Zeph, your gut feeling hasn't paid off too well. With the precedence set by Adams in '92 I'll use the Circle Loop to shunt and trap you into Chancery Lane and advancing me to Russel Square.

And Zephyrus is in knip. I think I'll invoke the precendent set by Tim Brooke-Taylor, and turn the game in a different direction by moving to East Finchley. This, as we all well know, flips the aggregate weighting to the West and puts me on a direct path to a French Double Reverse Defense.

    Damn your eyes!

Thought you had me in knip, eh?

Well, screw that! You *forgot* to blanket me before Circle Looping, boyo. And after I explicitly cited Engleburt. So slipping out of your Knip, I'll play it safe and make a simple backturn loop to Croxley.

Mindless, I do suggest you rethink your strategy. =p

Two amazing plays, I think I might be slightly out of my depth here.

In this case I'll exchange my two starting yellow tokens for the 13 red ones and play a criss-cross through Finchley Road.

FTR, before you jump down my throat for this, it's justified by the Marble Arch amendment in '54.

Aha. You fall foolishly into my trap. According to the Berlin Codex, I am entitled to trade three transfer cards with the stock at this point, so I will offer up the duke, the bishop, and the nun card, and use these to obtain the coveted pearl of atomic testosterone bonus card in order to build up my secret weapon and teleport with a latitudinal paradigm shift directly to my most surprising move yet. Roding Valley.

Nice play Mindless, but slightly predictable. With a triple play over, a regional drop touch and because of the added velocity of travelling down hill, I can play through Roding Valley, forcing a straddle out of you and ending on Kilburn, expending four red tokens for additional line velocity.

    MudChute in four.

Ah, I knew I recognised this somewhere.

I'll start at Alperton, thanks to the Holland Park amendment of 2000.

I'll use the Escalator Rule to take me out of knip, across to Finsbury Park. Then, I'll sacrifice six red tokens and use the Farkle Paradox to allow me to make a Chromatic Shunt down Waterloo and City to Great Portland Street.

Interesting tactic, I'm beginning to see where you're going here.

I'll play it simple and from Kilburn play the Arboreal Cascade, that is to say Burnt Oak, Elm Park, Limehouse, Royal Oak and end on Shepard's Bush, collecting the twelve green tokens inherent in such a move.

I'll play three reds and shunt to Seven Sisters.

Aha. I'll move to Saint John's Wood, and then declare the Finsbury Option of '88, which sets you on a shunt directly to Mill Hill.

Okay, this took a bit of lateral thinking, but I'm pretty sure I've got a move that can cope with the turns of both Oz and Mindless.

By using the riverboat service at Cutty Sark, I can rebound up through the District Line and by spending four of my green tokens, keep up enough velocity to play Maida Vale and use it to regain lost velocity and end at Canons Park.

Tricky. I'll use the Jespersen Maneuver and move to Canning Town. I predict MudChute in six.
