Spacegnom, I did read your post and it seemed like you were replying to Sorrows' post about where you can post to go up to 25. The misunderstanding seems to be that you think "how am I supposed to get better at reviewing if I can't access WBA?". I said "go to the Library". Unless I'm wrong here.

If you want to review, the Library's wide open. If you want to review in WBA after you gain access, awesome. You can't do that right now, oh well. You weren't reviewing in WBA before.

The stated purpose of WBA is for authors to improve. You say it's not because anyone with 25 posts can get in. The stated purpose of a wrench is to fix things, not kill people by repeatedly whacking them over the head with it. I can do it, but that's not what a wrench is supposed to be for. WBA is supposed to be for authors and those who want to help them get better by providing feedback. You're free to think differently, but you also have to accept that you're wrong.

Ah now I get it, with review section I meant the review board. You are correct, I should have said the Library.
I did not complain about the 25 post limit (which I totally accept as a anti-plagiarism mechanism).
What I wanted to disprove was the notion that this measure was intended to make the WbA an exclusive place for authors and reviewers. As it is now after posting 25 times I can go right back to lurking.

That's obvious, but that's not the point. The point is that WBA doesn't exist for the convenience of people wanting to read. It exists so that authors can improve. That not everyone comments in the threads there is a whole another issue.

EDIT: I'm not sure if you're just being contrary or obtuse.

That's fine if you want to post 25 times and never post again. But, I really doubt that everyone is going to be doing that. And if they do, it's going to be really obvious. Like, if there are 100 users with 0 posts viewing a recent update in a 24 hour period... how many of those 100 users are actually going to be creating X amount of filler posts all over the site? It's going to be obvious.

Ah, so now I have to hit a post cap to read WBA huh? Cute. Obviously arguing with such silliness is rather pointless, so I guess I'll just work towards my count. Hope this fixes the plagiarism problem.

Or you can just ask to be unblocked, considering that you've been on this site longer than I have it won't be a problem.

Though it is interesting to see who it drives out of the woodwork.

Huh, this thread reminds me a bit of the old intro section.

    Only with less obligatory insults.

Yeah... Everything that needs to have been said has been said I think, so I'mma go ahead and lock this. If anyone feels that they have a valid reason that the thread absolutely must be opened again, please get in touch.

I bumped you up. No donation necessary.

I don't want to attach a price tag to WBA, as then we're exploiting our authors who are really just seeking feedback. We're no Patreon.
