or Rammsteins Ich Will for Dark!Harry. my question to you is what kind songs do you think fits the diffrent categorys?

 

Well, insert any crappy emo music and/or Tracy Chapman (I like her music, but it can be SO depressing) for Pussy!Harry, Gangster of Love by Johnny "Guitar" Wilson for Harem!Harry, (God, I love that song) And I'd love Baby Got Back for something too, maybe Harry/Tonks, as I've always pictured Tonks as being a real woman!

NO, Linkin Park does not get to touch Indy!Harry. Although I guess now that it's a cesspool of H/G and cliche, that they could mix well...

However, for good Indy!Harry stories, I would suggest Unchained by Van Halen.

 

For some reason, no matter what Indy! Harry fic I read, my inner soundtrack's always whistling the theme from The Great Escape.

And when I read fics with the Flying Squad in, I either have Ride Of the Valkyries or the Dambusters theme running through my head.

Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath would go well with Dark!Harry too.

 

I know it might sound a little (okay, probably a bunch) cliche, but I always start to sing the Mission Impossible theme or some Double-O Seven music whenever I start reading about Harry sneaking around. From breaking out of Azkaban to pulling a prank, it is the classic MI theme all the way.

On a side note, I also like Linkin Park songs for Indy!Harry, even if they are over used for song fics and band fics, but I also like Nine-Inch Nails for him too.

 

I'm a fan of most types of music...I listen to Classical and Heavy metal...Metallica and Stratovarius are my favourites.....
Personally, especially when doing a dramatic scene, I like listening to some climatic music. I'm a big fan of the Final Fantasy Music scores, and some of my best action scenes have come forward when I was listening to some of the final battle music

 

For a Dark!Harry I'd suggest Last Resort. I mean, he turned to the Dark Arts as a last resort to destroy Tom

 

I personally think that Original Prankster by The Offspring is fitting for comedy fics.

 

Metallica - St Anger for Dark!Evil!Harry

 

I've made an entire playlist for the story I'm working on now, which has a little over a hundred songs in it-- a little excessive I know...

But they help me a lot sometimes while I'm writing certain scenes or chapters.

For example: Harry's first time (having sex) I listened to "Try A Little Tenderness" by Otis Redding and "Under Pressure" by David Bowie.

Harry's duel on the Quidditch pitch with Malfoy I listened to a lot of A Perfect Circle: "Counting Bodies Like Sheep..." and "Passive". Also I liked "Knife Party" by the Deftones or "Hey Man, Nice Shot" Filter.

The Postal Service's "Natural Anthem" is a good song for when Harry gets on his broom for the first time after Umbridge confiscated it.

And I love "Dead Souls" by NIN for some kind of battle song when Harry is leading the front, or Dark!Harry.

 

Any time Harry breaks out of Azkaban I always play the great escape tune. Always - its really funny reading him kick ass with wandless magic that he's learned overnight to the most known tune in the western world.

I was just listening to "Phenomena" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and thought it might go nice in an angsty, Harry-kicking-ass scene of some kind. Ah well I'm a girl so I like songs like this.

 

I'm gonna suggest Space Truckin' by Deep Purple for any time Harry's doing something on his own. It has some great bass lines, and an awesome drum solo. It's just an all-around great song.
