Not to mention Luna's little displays in Luna Eclipsed, like conjuring up massive thunderstorms in a matter of seconds just because she's feeling a bit piqued, or wants something to says/does to seem more dramatic.

Plus, there's the show dialogue having Celestia's name substituted for "god" in several turns of phrase.

I guess in the end, it boils down to how one defines the term godlike. If you stick to the Judeo-Christian standard of omniscience and omnipotence, then no, they're not godlike. If you go for a definition that doesn't wear monotheistic blinders, they fit just fine.

Personally, I've always like the Dresden Files standard of saying that any being capable with enough raw power to unleash a global apocalypse all by themselves qualifies as godlike. Nightmare Moon proves that the two of them fit that definition.

My opinion on the site is relevant in the fact that I choose not to go there, thus, miss out on Word of God. Sort of like how people who don't go to www.jim-butcher.com miss out on Word of Jim. The value of the word "art" can be debated for ages, but, suffice to say, I put much more stock in it than you apparently do.

EDIT: You've said yourself that via Executive Meddling, Faust's original opinion on Blueblood was shot down. This means that any information coming from her is relegated to a secondary canonicity, with the information provided by the show being the primary source of canon.

EDIT2: Saying "Who cares where the information comes from?" is a loaded question, without doubt. I could say this in response to information taken from the Harry Potter wiki being shot down, but that's beside the point. The point I'm trying to make, here, is that the very value of the information you are defending isn't worth as much as the information provided by the show.

Had an interesting thought on the whole "Where was Luna during the final battle with the Changelings?" issue.

In Luna's arrival in Part 1, she's shown flying in from outside the city at nightfall. We also know that the Princesses were aware of there being some sort of threat against Canterlot, but didn't know exactly what.

So, an unknown threat + Luna not being in the city inclines me to think she'd gone out to try and find out what was going on. Makes sense; have one Princess there to protect the city, while the other goes out to try to find out more about what sort of threat they're dealing with.

It would explain her missing the wedding; identifying and stopping a threat to her subjects is much more important than attending a wedding. It also explains her missing the action; when the Changeling attack on Canterlot was going down, she was probably off patrolling the border, following up on leads, etc.

 

Two questions: 1. Then why did Celestia just go inside the castle rather than leaving the sphere? and 2. How the heck did she miss the massive changeling army massing outside Canterlot?

 

1: Luna's line of dialogue right before that suggests an answer; Celestia's tired, and needs rest. For all their power, Celestia and Luna do have their limits.

2: Changelings are pretty good at hiding; I'd imagine the changeling army was just going around looking like normal ponies until it was time to launch the attack, and waiting until Luna's far enough away to not see the massing army seems like a common sense move on their part.

If you want some real paranoia-fuel, maybe all those duplicate background ponies we've seen running around throughout the series were really just changeling infiltrators. And all this time we thought having two different Bon Bons in the same shot was just laziness...

Okay, fic req and two song recs this time.

A decent fic where GLADoS and Chell are transported to Equestria, with body changing included for both (as well as the Robot Test Subjects). Features a good dose of black humour and Chell kicking ass, much like Portal, in fact. It gets a 4/5 from me.

As for the song recs, naturally they were inspired by the fic.
