I'm pretty sure Joe's giving one to LittleChicago 'cause he wrote Red Tally and, as an author, is entitled to a physical copy of the anthology as per the contract. Chip a story into antho 3 if you want some of the goods for free, Luckylee! :)

Otherwise be a gent a buy your paperback for us, yeah?

This thread, once again, is rather too well hidden for general public to find.

Someone should make it sticky and put up a notice.

Unfortunately, no. And I don't like the way we keep dropping in rank in the Kindle store: #165,375 at the moment. I could swear on Antho 1 the numbers stayed below a hundred thousand for longer than this in the opening week.

Anyone else spreading the word that this is available? I've got links on my FFN profile for both Anthologies with a basic plea of preview&buy if liked.

EDIT: Went ahead and added this to Goodreads. See; link

Notice up (you can thank Raven) and I'll sticky now. Protip, actually PM someone on staff next time. If Fine Balance hadn't asked me it could have been much longer before this went noticed. :p

Now that I have a kindle and one-click shopping on Amazon, the only thign stopping me from spending 99% of my life reading is schoolwork, sleep, and food.
Purchased, reviewed, and queued up to finish reading after I get done with Cat's Cradle.

But I fear rejection, Oz. I fear it. And you're a cruel overlord, full of wit and perverse merriment.

That said, cheers. I should have contacted the staff, but I'm more of a live in the moment son of a bitch, throwing these anthologies together with duct tape and good intentions.

Sales have been respectable so far. Having a community to support our endeavours does propel us to infinity and beyond... similar anthologies. We've sold close to three dozen in just a few days, which is roughly similar to Antho #1's initial cherry popping.

If we can (tentatively) assume an average sales of 10-20 copies a month per anthology (another reason to diversify into different genres), then we'll be self-sustaining in about 4 or 5 anthologies. At which point I will logout of DLP forever and use the delicious, delicious funds to fund my Asian foot fetish in Thailand.

I never said I loved you, DLP.

At least it was a Thai foot fetish. Never understood that whole 'patriarchal-society' toe-breaking thing.

You guys ever think about making Dark Lord Publishing an avenue for our own novel-length writers that have participated in the anthologies? Or perhaps having an editor by committee for something of the like? Imagine the possibilities. Imagine the funds.

I was thinking recently that we should pool the funds and use them as prizes in a writing contest.

Funds for DLP? Ha! If I would publish my book in DLPublishing I would take all money for myself. All of them! :p

That said, I was thinking that it would be a nice possibility for these authors that don't care about being, more or less, self-published instead of professionally published. Though considering how time-consuming the process is, I don't think Joe would simply help with that out of the goodness of heart.

You can probably even used sponsor for that. You go to any kind of store and ask of them that they sponsor the writing contest and you can find yourself with a couple of gifts card or products in exchange of their name and logo on your website/etc.

But yeah, I had a similar idea to this too at some point. We could use the DLP monthly challenge as a base to start with. But at the same time, author gave their time to write these story to pay for the DLP servers.

I'm expecting a proof copy in the post before week's end. Once I've seen how it looks I can approve it for sale. At At worst, we're about a week away - 9 days. At best, if the book arrives by Friday, then this weekend.

Any chance of these babies popping up in a book store in the US? Touching down in Miami come January. Wouldn't mind picking up a few (all) while I'm there.

Not unless the bookshop orders them in. We don't have the distribution to make it happen otherwise!
