Just a question. Do any of you know about a decent Naruto!centric fic about team 7 being together ( either Sasuke does not give into Orochimaru's offer or Naruto managed to bring him back) that doesn't involve fluffy Sasuke/Sakura or Naruto/Hinata romance (even better if it doesn't involve romance at all).

The Naruto authors always write about Naruto being tortured, leaving the village, being superpowered but I have seen little good fiction about what would have happened if Team 7 were still together.

 

That's mostly 'cause authors in general hate Sasuke and most dislike Sakura and don't really want to write them.

 

Well, I too dislike Sasuke, and Sakura annoys me, but all that "Naruto is a tortured emo, and intelligent soul who wears a mask" plus the "the rest of team 7 are dumb fucks" is starting to get old. Those stories are so full of nonsensical character bashing that if you took that part away from the story, the rest of it wouldn't actually be 100 words long.

The majority of Naruto!Centric fics out there are clones of previous fics, not even worth reading. It's always the same shit all over again ( and again, and again...) and it's pissing me off.

Hell people, get a brain, be original.

So true. And I happen to like Sasuke. In fandom everyone just makes him a total dick, as if having to see your brother kill your family over and over for 24 hours wouldn't fuck a guy in the head. I could care less about Sakura.

Character bashing in general is just fucking stupid.

I'd also like to see more on the morals of ninjadom. Why is Orochimaru evil? Why is Danzou a bad guy? Kabuto? Zabuza? Gaara's father? Akatsuki?

I'm not talking "oh noes we were framed and the Kyuubi was under a genjutsu" bullshit. Real talk of the morals of being a ninja.

And Sandaime needs to grow a pair. If a little boy suddenly claims to be from the future and has knowledge of village-secrets, you lock his ass up and be suspicious, not go on a feeling or some other bs...


Gah, I could rant about this stuff for days...

 

I don't know...I mean, that's a rather extreme reaction, locking him up. If I were the Sandaime, I'd just ruffle his hair and think something like "Kids these days...so imaginative."

You have to admit, that is definitely something that a little kid would make up.

I meant when Naruto uses "proof" like showing him the Rasengan, or telling him about one of the many "secrets" he learned as Hokage in his time ect...

Rasengan and other Konoha jutsu need to be treated more like Village Secrets, not cool, personal techniques.

 

Ahh...Gotcha. I haven't really had to deal with that problem, myself; for some reason, just about every time travel fic I've ever had for Naruto set his body completely back to the age in question, chakra control included. As I'm sure you know, the only Naruto that could use the Rasengan is one that's trained in it; since it seems to generally set the body back to the academy days...yeah, never really had to deal with that.

That's not to say that he doesn't try to re-learn those techniques as fast as possible, thoroughly surprising everyone when he shows off his Rasengan in the chuunin exams.
