Well, despite having five chapters I'm going to have to reserve judgment on Houses. When something actually happens I'll give an opinion. For now, s'well written and all but... where's the bloody plot?

Has anyone found anything good lately? There has been a serious lack of substantial Naruto fiction, and even the reliable posters are slowing down. Dancing With Demons updating scratched the itch for about an hour. -,-

 

I've been searching, believe me... but nothing's worthy.

 

lol i gave up looking for good naruto fics 2 years ago. It's not worth looking for a jewel by going through a waste land of a dump.

Edit:He is the only one I have ever seen do an awesome job of making Kushina an evil manipulative bitch.

I agree that it is a bad summary but it is pretty much what happens. Story's a rather silly in many ways but overall I found it to be bearable.

It's a fun read, and Jiraiya does keep to his canon methods (ie give Naruto an idea and bail). And hiding in a non-ninja village does nothing to keep Naruto from being a pain in the ass to Jiraya or Orochimaru. The Atatsuki doesn't come into it till the most recent chapter though.

 

Stopped reading when Naruto received a letter with those thrice damned weights... Uber Naruto with skills in Shogi, sword and weights... Another failure in fanfiction department.

 

Meh. It gets worse. Ino is sent on S-rank missions and the rest of the rookie nine are all OOC. It's quite frankly not worth reading.

I read Fox of Konoha... it's alright. Nothing amazing, but more decent than most.

 

Eh, guess I got a bit desperate for half decent fanfiction. But still it doesn’t fail as hard as 90% of the shit out there, not that means much.

At Ksai: yeah he just updated, and it was good.

 

I wouldn't mind the uber skills if there were some sort of build up to them. He lists the jutsu one chapter and the next chapter he uses them at will. That, and Orochimaru is disgustingly OOC... like a bad characterization of Voldemort.

 

Same; I don't know why people bitch when the main character actually has skills. ¯\(°_o)/¯

 

Does his writing improve? I think he said he doesn't have a beta, so I can accept most of the errors (few that there are). It's just... I don't know, I find it hard to get into the flow of his story (I'm reading Cutting the Deck.) He's kind of like a less annoying Fosfor.

 

He doesn't update too fast but it's fairly regular. I like most of his work expecially with Cutting the Deck. He could take it in several original directions, so I look forward to his updates.

Yeah, it felt like I was reading Kill Bill for a minute there, with Sasuke's scenes... Naruto/Kisame was alright. But then Tsunade got into the mix and I was just left... confused. A good confused, anyway.
