Two Halves was "good" when it was written (there were no epic-length romance fics featuring characters like Hinata), now however, it's a banal tale of contrived romance with supporting characters such as 'mary sue oc sensei' and 'more ocs no one cares about'. If you're desperate for a complete story featuring NarutoHinata, then go ahead and read it, however I wouldn't recommend it.

The author that originally wrote it closed his ff account after people kept badgering about him writing a sequel, someone saved the story and posted it under their own name.

You're looking at it from the wrong perspective. Sure, the Naruto setting is a fantasy, however, Naruto & Co. are still human, so we expect them to act like humans. It's ridiculous when 12 year olds turn into "matured adults" because the author is usually in their teens themselves. They fail to understand what an adult is psychologically. It doesn't matter if you're a ninja warrior in a foreign land, certain behaviors are common amongst humans regardless of upbringing or developmental-physiological state.

On the whole stalker thing I always kind of figured that was something we took out of context. When I read the manga it looked more like she was too nervous to say anything rather than following him.

Anyway I think you would be hard pressed to find someone who disagreed with you about there being to much naru/hina and most of it sucking. But hey there has to be some outlet for fangirls/boys who suck at whatever and empathize with hinata. Don't want a repeat of that twilight vibrator fiasco do we?

Cool fanon theory bro. The most she did was hide as he passed, or worry about him after the genin exams that he failed.
At most she's Ginny before Rowling raped the character into a Mary Sue that was the epitome of feminazi, a shy side-character with a crush on the protagonist, who most agree wasn't as horrible as present day Ginny. The closest character to post-rape Ginny is Sakura, the similiarities are obvious, so I shouldn't have to elaborate.

 

I always thought the Hinata's nervousness about Naruto was played up for giggles and find hard to think of it as creepy. Despite the buttrape, I hope Team 8 updates soon. I have a feeling the author has written himself into a situation where there's no real original conflict. Kurenai (besides her obligatory backstory) is a perfect sensei, and they basically go through the story doing everything right. That's the only difference from canon. Once the Akatsuki arc starts up, Team 8 is supposed to split, so the story ends?

PS Here and Now Again is going to end up Naruto/Karin. =P

Though I have to say comparing Hinata with Ginny is a bit harsh. I agree she could have done more for Naruto but she is still better than:

"It is because he has no parents" Dear God, I wanted to stab her Here and Now.

Or who could forget.

"Take me with you Sasuke-kun, I only care about you." And this is after Naruto just went through all that shit to bring Tsunade back to heal Sasuke.


Team 8 was good back in the day. Sometimes you just have to let a story go. I just find it sad that there are some really good Naruto Hinata pairings that are not reviewed, and thus the author stops writting them.

I find Caged Fox to be pretty good, but I think it is also abandoned. Then there was that fic with the insane Naruto who is always gettting his head blown off and regrowing it, but that has also been removed from FFN.

 

I agree with this. Putting aside the shyness that Hinata shares with pre-GoF/OoTP Ginny, they are nothing alike.

In HP canon, Ginny comes out of nowhere and is suddenly this super powerful, kickass, hawt Mary Sue who can do no fucking wrong and goes around pwning everyone.

Seriously, the comparison that LT is trying to make just isn't there. Naruto's Ginny would be either Sakura or Ino. Unlike Hinata, who just suffers from extreme anxiety when Naruto is around, Sakura and Ino constantly stalk Sasuke and despite being rather mediocre skillwise, they exhibit many of the same traits of HP's Ginny.
