While it would be a cop-out if Madara got hacked off by the tools, at least they would have actually had a purpose. The whole mini-arc with them seemed pointless and unnecessary and was super-boring imo. Seriously, we saw he had a fifty-meter DNA sword and could create life. The fuck does he need stuff that seals you away if you say your favorite word for?

EDIT for clarification: By 'he', I mean Six Path Sage. Not Madara.

Kurama did not recognize Naruto with his sensory ability after Naruto "changed" during the waterfall training.

It would be quite consistent for Karin to not to recognize Kabuto, since after Itachis Izanami brainwashing Kabuto would basically be totally different person.

Would make most sense if the sealing items were the Sages first attempts to imprison Juubi and thats why they were created. I mean if you were the original Sage, what would be your first thought. Create a sealing container to imprison a monster. Or seal that monster inside your own body. It makes enough sense that I kinda consider it headcanon now. Sage tried to seal the Juubi with the items, Juubi was too strong, so the Sage gave up on items and just used himself.

All that gene splicing could easily have changed his chakra feel too.

Minato is apparently capable of sealing the Yin half of Kurama into his son without fully releasing it from himself so the SO6P may be able to seal the Juubi into himself from his Jar.

My point was that the Sage was the FIRST Jinchuuriki. He would have had no true idea what would happen if he put a horrible monster inside himself. For all he would have known, Juubi might have possessed him and become an even greater threat.

Given that, don't you think it would make more sense for him to try to create an artificial prisons first (like the jar) to imprison Juubi permanently, before choosing himself. And if the jar worked, would it not have made more sense to just stick the whole Juubi there, and then stick the JAR to the moon for good.

Basically, if the jar worked as a permanent prison, why bother sealing it into himself? Becoming jinchuuriki really only makes sense if nothing else (including the jar) worked and the Sage had no choice.

The Shinju differs from other bijuu because it seems to be solely composed of nature chakra. Obito was almost immediately fighting for control of his body and the struggle warped his body. You could attribute all that to the nature chakra of the Bijuu running rampant throughout his body and that may have degraded the strength of the Sage's tools.

Oh no, the jar makes sense. It's the things that the Silver Brothers were using, that trap you if you say a certain word that doesn't seem necessary. The Juubi doesn't exactly seem to talk, now does it? And if it never or barely ever speaks, I'm not sure that the 'even not talking at all will get you sealed' bit applies.

We don't know the definition of "talking" that the jar requires. Its perfectly plausible that any kind of response such as a roar or scream is sufficient. Infact, we know that the jar has been used against Hachibi, who obviously knows what the thing does and would know not to answer, and yet he has been trapped by the jar anyway. Odds are that if you yell "Juubi!" and simultaneously injure it so that the creature screams in pain, thats all the jar needs.

Pretty sure this manga just went even further into the DBZ realm with this Sealing Jar bullshit.

I think it was Dragon Ball that dealt with the sealing thing more than DBZ, but that's neither here nor there.

I think it was Japanese mythology that dealt with the sealing thing, actually. The tale of the Tailed Beasts is adapted from Japanese myths, including the Tools used to seal them. Naruto and Dragon Ball are both homages to Sino-Japanese folklore and myth, thus certain similarities are unavoidable.

Actually, the “Tools of Power” descend from the “Eight Immortals” which are from Chinese mythology.

Yeah, well, the Japanese are an ancient branch of the Chinese anyway, so whatever. That is why I said 'Sino-Japanese folklore and myth.'

The guy near Sasuke has to be Kabuto because the silhouette has horns and one of them is a stub.

Where was it stated? Juubi just "feels" like natural energy because it had no mind at the time of it's revival. And apparently it could replenish chakra by gathering natural energy. Basically, it could produce chakra from natural energy.

Which, upon their encounter with those living on the Japanese islands, was absorbed almost wholesale, IIRC. The local religious practices (Shinto, etc.) were largely conflated with the Chinese myths that came in along with a writing system, advanced agricultural and crafting techniques, and other such goodies.

    ...even with Senjutsu.

But it was nice to learn why exactly Rikudou gave humans chakra.

Which was annoying. I thought he did not know senjutsu. He did not use it against Obito earlier, and when Naruto did, he compared mastery of senjutsu to Jiraiya, not himself.

Now he suddenly knows it. Bah.
