So I take it that Kaguya somehow saved Madara after his loss to Hashirama.

 

Gaara's dream gave me the bad feels. Poor guy just wants to play ninja with Narubro.

 

No guarantees she'll be a total villain though. And it isn't really that bad either way.

 

Sasuke telling Kakashi to "Shut up. You're as bad as Sakura." made me chuckle. It's like a meta example of 'We're the only ones who can stop this so get out of the way.'. And if I could ask, how's everyone feeling about Madara completing the Moon's Eye Plan with everyone in their Lotus Eater Machine? Barring the betrayal, this feels like a Good End to me although I may have glossed over something when someone argued their disagreement in the manga.

 

Was the guy in the Mizukage's dream someone recognizable or just a random hot dude? I couldn't tell.

Also, was anyone else made inexplicably saddened by Naruto not being part of Tsunade's dream?

Hinata's is basically any fluff Naru/Hina fanfic out there, which makes sense since Hinata's absolutely the kind to have hordes of personally written fan stories stashed in her room.

 

I couldn't tell either, maybe just some fantasy perfect guy? I didn't notice that Tsunade's dream-reality didn't include Naruto, although who's to say that he's not there? Shino's was just him finding (And riding, which was pretty cool.) a new insect and Kiba's was just being Hokage. We didn't see anybody else in those panels.

 

Even ignoring the fact that its a fake illusion and that they have been totally brainwashed/brainwiped (Gaara for example must have forgotten most of his life for his illusion to make sense), there is still the tiny detail that the purpose of this is to keep them docile while the tree literally drains the life/chakra out of them in order to produce a new fruit, and when they die its the end of the human species.

EDIT: And as for Tsunade, Nawaki looks a bit young does he not? Narutos age pre-timeskip. Even Jiraiya seems to look younger. Tsunades illusion has obviously had her go back in time, so Naruto is probably a baby or something in Tsunades dream and Minato and Kushina are alive, and eventually Naruto would become Nawakis honorary younger brother or somesuch.

 

Oooo that does make sense actully. I think that will be Kaguya's plan and she somehow convinced Madara to complete the Moon eye plan for her.

 

And I saw the thread where that rumor started. The person who said it was full of shit. They couldn't cite it. Nobody could find a sauce.

It's almost like somebody made something up during an internet argument to support their whinging.

He's also completely right. I fucking choked on my drink when he told Kakashi to shut up because he was just as useless as Sakura now. Naruto and Sasuke are the only ones who can do shit-all now, and between the two of them, Sasuke's better equip to be making the plans.

Garra's dream was sad as shit, though. Almost makes me want to see a fic where Gaara is the one that gets thrown back in time, for a change of pace.

 

There are shitton fics with that idea. Sadly they are all shit. I'm sorry. There are some 'good' fics with Gaara and Naruto going back tho.

Can't wait to see what Kaguya can do, since it seems she's about to manifest using Madara's body as a host.

I hope we get to see what the Byakugan is really capable of. The Sharingan/Rinnegan has been wanked enough.

 

Most of the dreams/mirror of erised stuff kind of annoyed me. This is the manga's climactic fight with everyone's lives on the line, if Kishimoto's going to take time out to show us some dreams, he could have given it a little more gravitas. Tenten's fondest wish is for Gai and Lee to get better haircuts? There is nothing in the world that Chouji wants more than a wife that likes watching him eat? They just seemed so trite for the most part.

Even Tsunade's, which was at least a little more heartfelt, had problems for me. It's been like 30 years and she has entirely new relationships and people to pin her hopes on. Hell, that was like the whole point of her meeting Naruto and pulling herself out of her 25-year hangover. If she still just wants to go back in time, erase the lives of half the people she knows and marry Dan, it really weakens her character.

Plus, I'm pissed we didn't get to see Orochimaru's dream. I want to know what his ideal world is.

 

I don't even know if Orochimaru has an ideal world. He's already achieved immortality, as we've seen from all his curse seal shenanigans. I can't imagine he cares about the Hokage position anymore, if he ever did in the first place. Something tells me at this point he's happy just watching the world burn.

 

I believe Orochimaru wanted to learn all the jutsu in the world. I think that's why he wants to be immortal and why he wanted Sasuke's body. Rinnegan seems to allow you to learn just about any jutsu and the Sharingan lets you copy jutsu.

 

I'm thinking it's going to be this that allows them to wake themselves up. In the end, it's just an illusion, and not a very good one at that (as Naruto explains to Obito). But Madara still thinks this is the way to go, even though almost everyone he's encountered rejects the idea outright the second he explains it to them.

So his illusion is going to do what he wants it to. It's going to show everyone what he thinks they should want, and it's going to be shitty for just the reasons you mentioned.

Everyone will realize they're in the matrix, wake up on their own, and prove that the real world and love for your fallen comrades is the ultimate blah blah, etc etc . . .

Then Naruto and all his friends will win together.
