Yes, but they were never meant to be on that level alone. Top tier S class ninja like the Kages had to be powered up to that level as well.

Shukaku going wild in Suna? The Kazekage needs to be strong enough to stop it. Hachibi constantly escaping and rampaging in Kumo? The Raikage is strong enough to go toe to toe with it to get it back under control.

Seriously, it's basically Sakura's entire purpose at this point. To be an avatar for Kishi's insecurity when it comes to women. Honestly, I'm pretty sure it's just thinly veiled wish fulfillment. If only women were not actually complicated, complex human beings with motivations and emotions of their own not related to Romance, who can lead lives not dominated by Love and Affection for One Man No Matter What He Does. Then they wouldn't intimidate and confuse him so much!

This is why I like NaruSaku, because generally they give her more emotional depth and intelligence than that of a particularly retarded, often-kicked puppy.

 

Honestly this is the first time that the art shows Sakura as some kind of hot woman. Aside from her obvious uselesssness she looks kinda badass to me. Gives a slightly different younger Tsunade.

Also I dread the new power ups. And the yellingat each other for several chapters. Not shiny or raven.

I love Naruto's reaction to Sasuke assaulting Sakura's mind with illusions:
"hey that's wrong, then again it's probably for the better, so it's cool"

Also lol how that directly ties into Naruto not taking this seriously at all. Judging things by Naruto's behaviour, you wouldn't think that Sasuke proclaimed his intention of mass murder but rather that he is holding a different opinion on the quality of a book. Like, it's okay that he thinks differently but that he will come to see the light, and not murder Naruto's closest proxy to a mother and one of his actual best friends, his new nine friends and three other people he doesn't hate (although he should hate 2 of them).

Really, it's like Naruto has already read the ending of this story or at least has become genry savvy enough to read the signs that every enemy that he faces will make a heel face turn at the end of the fight. He probably counts on a random power-up if things turn out to be tough.

If Naruto doesn't really care about what Sasuke is going to do, and what he does at the moment, why should I?

As to Sakura, way to blow it, Kishi. That was the moment to salvage Sakura after making countless mistakes with her and in the end, with this scene, Sakura has had 0% character development from the time that Sasuke knocked her out when he left the village. She said the same thing then and was knocked out just the same as well. Great job.

I was really hopeful that Sakura would at least attempt to kick Sasuke's ass, but instead she is relegated to the same begging shit as she always is. It's a pretty shitty thing to say, but when it looked like Sasuke had pierced her with a chidori, I really thought "well, she had that coming/what did she expect" because, really, she doesn't, not her fault Kishi resets her character development every time Sasuke is in the same frame as her.

That’s what happened the last few times she said the exact same thing to Sasuke, he attacked her, with varying intentions to harm her, but attack her, he did and it is unfair to have her forget that and try the same approach every fucking time and get assaulted for it. It’s unfair to Sakura and it is unfair to the reader who has increasingly less tolerance not only for Sasuke but also for Sakura. It’s kinda hard to excuse someone making the same mistake again and again without learning a single thing from it.

The sage sitting there and going "well, we know how this is going to end" doesn't endear this situation any more to me. The manga actively says how this fight is going to end and I am extremely reluctant to believe that this will end with Naruto killing Sasuke, so, yeah, we know what's going to happen so much, even the characters in the manga know what will happen.

 

Yeah, the manga has completed the jump from annoying to damaging. I'm not at all sure if this is reasonable material for young kids to read. Geez.

The fight was a foregone conclusion the moment Naruto mentioned his promise to Sakura. Even Kishi won't end his story with a broken promise given by the "protagonist".

Sakura...I honestly cringed so hard, I thought I had an epileptic seizure. And of-fucking-course the Valley of the end is right around the corner.

 

What's amusing is that Sakura, and to an extent Kakashi, refer to her crush/obsession over Sasuke as true love. And that is especially hilarious, considering Sasuke couldn't be more than 13 when he left.

I understand Sakura being an obsessive, stupid girl that confuses obsession with love, but Kakashi, too?

 

No matter how I look at it Kakashi was like the worst teacher ever. Also emotionally I don't think it was a good idea to give him Team 7. I mean with his experience with Obito, I think he supports Sakura because he sees Obitos obsession with Rin and he wants to atone for his mistake. Sakura is just plain fucked up. I mean she is some kind of dual personality...
