I've got the official Viz Media translation for that chapter. The kid that mentioned the transfer said that he just transferred in, not Naruto. And Iruka said that Naruto had been at the academy for three years by that point.

I don't thing there's anything that mentions that the classes follow the standard real-world class standard where everyone born within a year of each other falls in the same grade. While it's not an unreasonable assumption, they could have graduating classes every few months, which would allow Naruto to have failed a few times and still be in the same year as the others. It is worth mentioning though that Naruto is the second youngest of all the characters, just before Hinata, so it is likely that in order to have failed a few times and then graduate with the others he entered the Academy early.

 

It's important to figure out when Naruto joined the Academy because reasons.

Don't bother trying to figure out the timeline for this series, it's all jumbled up and full of retcons, especially in regards to Kakashi's era.

Just a thought, wasn't the technique Tsunade used and taught to Sakura making her sterile? If so then it's logical that Sakura is sterile too.

 

Where did you hear that? I don't remember anything mentioning the chakra seal making Tsunade sterile. She never had kids because Dan her lover died and realized she had(or could have had) feelings for Jiraiya to late.

This was obvious from the moment she had glasses, really.

Sasuke immediately acted interested in Karin once he found out she was an Uzumaki. Consider the obvious benefits to his children of crossing the Rikudou Sennin's two bloodlines. And if Sarada ends up with Boruto, their kid would almost be a reconstituted Kaguya. Except I suspect Hamura also had Kimimaro's kekkei genkai, but whatever.

Twelve Years. Twelve years of ignoring his only child so he can traipse the world, and probably the two people in Konoha who fought and sacrificed for his sake, for years.

Like seriously, I'm beginning to doubt Kishimoto's sanity. He has a massive hate boner for a character he created for the sole purpose of being his fantasy female punching bag, and a massive fan-boner for another one he created for the sole purpose of rewarding being a shitty person in general.

 

I am legitimately impressed by Sasuke's ability to be the coldest of stone cold motherfuckers. Other people may harp on him being a horrible person but to me he's gone so far over the douchebag scale that I'm not even mad.

Just to go over this again: Sasuke has (potentially) has a child with another woman (who presumably dies or something similar), Sasuke then gets Sakura (who is hopelessly in love/obsessed with him) to raise the child, Sasuke still might not be even married to her at all, and then Sasuke leaves for twelve years and has Sakura raise his child alone.

10 / fucking 10 man, douchebaggery so in-depth its almost artistic.

I really hope that they go through with this rather than making it some misunderstanding because not only is this the funniest shit ever but I am totally impressed that Kishi would even think of actually putting this plotline into effect in Naruto. Sakura having her picture covering up Karin was just the icing on top.

If this sorta thing keeps up I will read every issue of the sequel just for the sheer balls and hilarity.

It's interesting that Sakura isn't really sure whether Sasuke wore glasses or not. Possibly a side effect of being subjected to a genjutsu?

 

She knows full well that Sasuke didn't, but if she told Sarada that then Sarada's own suspicions will only be deepened. On the other hand, she doesn't want to lie. And so she fudges.

Sakura was never my favourite character, but this makes me respect her a lot more - raising Sarada, though the kid isn't biologically hers, and though Sasuke is such a massive irresponsible shit.

Greater love has no one than this: to raise the child that the douchebag you love had with some dead whore.

 

I'm guessing Sarada will unlock the mangekyo when she realizes Sakura's not her mother, and it will be Boruto's job to bring her back. That being said I wonder if we will see these characters grow up and if Boruto or Sarada will become Hokage. Also anyone have any ideas about the blue haired kid who sits next to Boruto?
