Tbh, your idea is terrible too. It's not a matter of detail or thought put into the technicals behind what's going on. It's about the whole concept being completely opposite of the core of what makes the Naruto-verse tick as well as it does.

Naruto is not sci-fi, and any attempts to make it so will fail.

That's not how that works. That's not how any of that works.

(to be totally fair, like one of those things works like that. But still that's not how any of that works)

Well I wasn't exactly planning on making a story with it, it was just a thought exercise. I do that. Like, how would the world be different in modern day if FMA-style alchemy had developed? Would there be certifications you would have to get in order to work on anything, as a way of maintaining an economy and preventing sub-par building work? How much more advanced would the world be with the ability to build anything you could imagine on a molecular level. What positions would a waterbender from ATLA occupy, apart from doctor? Would they be a sort of janitor as well?

Basically the idea of taking modern technology's problems, and then solving them by applying some alternate technique or technology to shortcut around those issues fascinates me. Like Doctor Doom, mixing science and magic to accomplish far more than either could separately.

But here and now in Boruto is not the place for that. We went from a feudal-era state to (Shikamaru?) wearing Geordi LaForge glasses and an entire city of scyscrapers around Konoha, within twenty years. The thoughts that I had been having placed it hundreds or thousands of years in the future. Far enough along that a shift between the two settings made sense. Not simply next-gen stuff.

Daily reminder that Konoha was not a feudal era state, and had technology comparable to the sixties/seventies if not later

Daily reminder that there's more going in each panel than just the character interactions

The artist is just all kinds of iffy. He can't handle children's faces, he has a phobia for breasts (the character assasination of Temari), has a fetish for bobs apparently, considering both Sakura and Hinata have one, and his lines are super sloppy.

Eh, Kishimoto had pretty sloppy linework and terrible faces in Naruto's early days too. Shikamaru looked like a freaking Homo habilis in the Chuunin Exam Arc

This. The new artist obviously has a Loli fetish, the only explanation for all the masectomy's

Watching Naruto: The Last and it's a pleasant surprise.

The animation is gorgeous, there are some funny moments, and the action is pretty good. The romance between Naruto/Hinata is annoying but not too bad.

Longer review to come when I'm done.

It's official Boruto chapter 2 is out and Sakura has had her tits removed. This artist must really have something against breasts.

Is it just me or does Sakura and Hinata have the same character model?

I'd say so, but that really isn't very uncommon with manga writers/drawers.

PS. Jiraiya must be rolling in his grave.

There are some dumbass moments in the movie. Hinata is hanging from a scarf, scared she's gonna fall-- but why can't she just wall climb like the ninja she is?

Or just take the fall? Ninja routinely handle those kinds of falls..

    Edit:

Never mind. This movie is terrible. The Naruto/Hinata scenes are cringe from beginning to end. I'm really starting t wonder where Kishi gets hi ideas for romance.

The action is good, but that's it.

So much of the movie is nonsensical. Before Teneri gets the Tenseigan, why is Naruto having any difficulty at all defeating him?

And why do any bad guys last more than seconds against them?

Just go 6-paths on him and kill him before anyone can blink!

But Sasuke showing up was pretty cool for the 3 seconds.

Because Kishimoto really, really wanted a story with the whole red string of fate thing.

And about the manga...it's kind of funny that the artist removed every female's breasts but is intent on showing off Sarada's legs. Pretty strange standards.

I wonder if Kishimoto and the new artist argue about the most attractive parts of the female body.

Boruto is a cunt, tech-gadgets replicating the Rasengan a joke, and the rinnegan hand at the end makes me vomit. On the bright side, stupid as the whole thing is, I like the way the relation between Naruto and Sasuke pans out so far.

Seeing Tsunade would be interesting - I want to know if the artist took her breasts away as well.

I like the whole high-tech vibe in the Boruto movie, with the exception of the tech that replicates jutsu.

I like that it contradicts lots of fanon that thinks that the Naruto world is low-tech and primitive, but the jutsu tech ruins the magical nature of chakra, IMO.
