I agree with SmileOfTheKill. I'm calling troll on this chapter. There is no plausible reason why Sakura would say that she wants to go with Sasuke aside from backstabbing him. Surely Tsunade pounded her fangirlness out of her.

As for Sakura leaving Sai, Kiba, Lee, and Akamaru like that, while infinitely stupid, it also shows that Kishimoto is apparently capable of having a ninja act like a ninja every once in a while, such as Naruto lying to Tenzou.

As for him leaving Tenzou behind like that, the only plausible way it happened is that Tenzou's guard is down because Naruto JUST had his panic attack a few hours beforehand. Furthermore, I got the impression that the hole was in a different room, such as the bathroom. Tenzou probably doesn't believe Naruto's lie for a minute, but he also probably thinks that Naruto's fully awake under the blankets, still crying or something like that.

 

That was the assumption that everyone made when they saw Sasuke use it, but it's clear now that that isn't the case.

Just goes to show that Naruto was better than him even then. Sasuke needed the practice. Naruto did not.

 

You know, it's funny, despite being constantly irritated and let down by the manga I still keep going back to read it every week. It's like Kishi has some kind of voodoo magic.

This chapter was full of horse shit. At this point of the manga I really couldn't give a shit how bad it is going to get, it sort of amuses me.

At least One Piece is still readable (I'm b'awwing right now). And we all know we're going to follow this train wreck to the end.

 

Seeing as the story seems to be gearing up for the big climatic final battle I imagine most people will stick things out even if Kishimoto makes a total mess of things. After all, the on people on this board made it through the last two books of the Harry Potter series...

 

This is exactly what Ive been thinking. How this reminds me of how the GREAT Harry Potter novels we all know and love turned into shit we hate with a passion.

 

Exactly. That is how I feel about the thing. I don't care about the characters as much as I care about knowing how others react to the characters. This chapter was epic to me.

 

I don't know, guys.

I've been hearing "this manga is shit" every chapter since the start of Part 2, and yet, when read in its entirety, it is still fucking epic and awesome. It's a manga best not read through a microscope.

Take the Sasuke vs. Itachi battle, for instance. Everyone said it sucked from chapter to chapter, and even after the fact, but now I've come to really appreciate it. If you have the will to do so, I suggest you reread the manga, or at least from the start of part 2. It isn't perfect, but I believe that it's really well done.

And while the current developments are not to my liking, I'm willing to wait for an outcome before I react. I mean I was one of the biggest "Rage!Sasuke is bullshit!" folks ever when he was at the Kage Summit, but Sasuke ended up getting trolled in the end. I still have some faith in Kishimoto's writing at this point.

Dissecting the manga chapter by chapter is not a good way to appreciate its entirety.

There are plenty of people who say that this manga should be called "Sasuke," but the reality is that he is the character who gets shit on more than any other. I'm okay with that, and apparently Kishimoto is as well.

 

I would say Naruto gives Sasuke a run for his money in the shitty life department. Especially early on. Sasuke doesnt seem to have any sense of loyalty, honor, or respect. Itachi sacrificed everything for his village, except his little brother. How does said little brother respond? By deciding to destory said village because 3 manipulative old coots had Itachi slaughter his clan to prevent a war. Kill the previously mentioned manipulative old coots? sure, wouldnt have a bit of a problem with that, but the dramatic little bastard decided to destory everything Itachi tried so hard to protect.

 

I wasn't talking about having a shitty life. I was talking about Sasuke getting beaten like a pinata in more than half of his fights. He gets the shit kicked out of him by everyone, and still gloats.

It's absurd.

Naruto was standing on his own two feet, and had more to give to fight the strongest character this manga will ever see, yet he doesn't seem to get credit for it. He waged the biggest battle of all of the manga, and won, and doesn't seem to get any street credit for it.

It's a little off.

 

You've got a pretty good point there; I only really got into Naruto pretty recently, and was overall quite pleased with it right up until I hit the current storyline. For all the complaints about the manga's current direction, there have been several people pointing out that the plotline could actually turn out pretty well depending on what Kishimoto has planned.

Also, in my experience when you're reading through the manga all at once instead of getting it in little 17 page bits every week little eroors like the fact that Sasuke used the wrong attack to kill a bear seem a lot less important compared to the overall story.

 

Naruto should just rasen shuriken the shit out of everybody and go live in a beach at this point.

On a different but related note, I am really enjoying the current arc of the anime; the story isn't following the boring cookie-cutter format of the older filller arcs, and the character interaction is pretty interesting. Nice to see Hidden Mist getting some screen time too; the village has just enough background to be intriguing as hell without providing any more than a tiny bit of information.

 

True. I never really understood why Sakura loves Sasuke so much. In part one it was nothing more than childhood crash and yet now three+ years later, without any reason, it become true love and all that stuff. Weird.

As for the rest, if there is one thing I really like in Naruto right now, it's feeling that it slowly coming to end. Something I can't say about Bleach.

 

I wasn't saying it was the wrong attack, I'm saying its physically impossible for Sasuke to do that to a 4 ton bear!
