I did feel disappointed with Kisame's death at the end of his fight with Bee - it was too tame. But I never thought something like this was being planned.

The overall feel was like others have already mentioned...its being dragged and dragged and stretched some more after that. Really, this doesn't look like it'll end for another 5 years at least.

 

Kisame's death was actually one of the things I felt was actually handled well in recent chapters.

 

I agree about Kisame's death feeling too simple and easy, but after a couple chapters I didnt think anymore about it.

 

And look where we are now, one step forward, a thousand steps back. Throughout the entire anime/manga, there have been waaaaaaaay too many God-Machines at work. It's my one longstanding complaint with Naruto that the entire story revolves around too many situational conveniences. From Haku's coma-inducing-needles to Zetsu doing his funky clone thing, there is a way out of everything. I can only suspend my logic for so many chapters before it doesn't work anymore.

On the newest chapter, it's good to see something happening with Orochimaru/Kabuto since he's been out of the light for too damn long. And as much as I may be displeased by the imminent eye-swap, it makes perfect sense. Though a part of me worries that it'll suddenly make him as powerful as Madara (hey now, we've seen him get massive power-ups for no reason so this isn't a stretch).

Beyond that, the poison seen made me lol.

 

Hew hew, looks the the leaks were right. Kisame lives! But Samehada is still attached to Bee. I <3 the ribbon he tied it up with XD

And eternal mangekyo for Sasuke. That is so going to be a power-up.

Btw, does anyone have any idea what's up with Sasuke's so-dubbed Blaze Release? Some kinda advanced fire manipulation after he got amaterasu... is listed as a bloodline limit on narutowiki.

Not to be a dick, but that's pretty much the standard definition of fiction, especially when the characters within essentially have super powers. What kind of story would Harry Potter be if Voldemort's Avada Kedavra had done it's job the first time?

Or if the hundred other times Harry possibly could have died, he actually did?

That being said, I am going to be a hypocrite and agree with you! This is getting abso-fucking-lutely ridiculous. More so, this is just the start of the Fourth world war and we all knew that was coming a year ago. This meeting between Naruto and Sasuke won't resolve anything. At all.

Then again, Terumi Mei, the Fifth Mizukage, has both Lava Release and Boil Release as Bloodline Limits, so perhaps the defination of a 'Bloodline Limit' is used a bit loosely here...

Believe me, I know what fiction is all about, and it was all well and good in the HP books. Rowling kept canon relatively simple and didn't include any weird ass things all us fanboys/girls like to include in fanfiction.

But Naruto...this shit has got to stop. Even anime filler is going places. This manga non-filler crap is going in circles.

This was actually the high point of the recent manga releases IMO.

It is bloody ridiculous though, isn't it? I was actually surprised which is new as far as Naruto goes. I've become pretty much immune to all the crap that Kishimoto pulls to explain things away, but this one was really out there, I thought.

And damn but that Zetsu must be another bijuu-without-a-tail; after all, he managed to clone a bijuu-without-a-tail so well, four top-class ninja couldn't make out the difference.

 

Zetsu is a member of Akatsuki and is there guaranteed to have some unique powers. He's not a fighter, so instead he's excellent at information gathering and subterfuge. I'm glad there's a ninja in there that isn't simply a straight up killing machine.

As far as Kisame goes, as I understood it he was fighting Killer Bee with Samehada up until he released his water prison to perform the crippling blow on Bee, at which point he hid in Samehada and Zetsu replaced him. So basically 99% of the fight was the real Kisame.

And am I the only one who doesn't want to see another panel of Orochimaru or Kabuto ever again? I'm so over them.

 

Agreed. Also, I know that it was a long while ago, but didn't Kakashi say that there were people out there younger than Naruto (when he was 13) but stronger than himself? I wish some of these kids would just come out and rape Sasuke.

 

I don't know about ridiculous. I thought it was a bit weird that he died so easily in the first place. A bit of trickery on the part of a high level ninja is actually a refreshing change from the usual lets just ram in with our super powered up techniques that seems to always manifest in this series.

 

Went back and took a second look - missed that on the first read. If the switch happened when he released the water prison then it's more believable but I can't get over the fact that it can be so bloody hard to kill someone and yet powerful people keep dying all over the place. Still, it does make Zetsu even more interesting and that's saying something.

 

Exactly, compared to Jiraiya, Itachi, and Pain most of these people are nothing. Absolutely nothing yet they just wont DIE!!!

Naruto has gained some resolution, kewell. Sasuke is hax power-upping.. really, Itachi's power flowing into him? Much surprise there...

Shizune looked like Tsunade died X_X' That would actually be awesome. Time for the new generation, eh? The Konoha crew especially made me think of the future power of the village.

/sigh, and not a single bishie daimyo. Hideous things, probably all gonna die XD
