Yeah, nice chapter overall.

Other than the actual battle of wills. It's promising to be stupid. But hey, Kyuubi knew this was coming, so it could be fun. Kyuubi was also, well, badly drawn imo. It doesn't look that awesome, more and more like a psycho rabbit on crack.

 

Agreed, I'll occasionally catch up on the nonfiller episodes, but the Pain invasion has been great. The extra fights just add to it.

 

This. I've been eagerly anticipating the Naruto/Pain fight for awhile now. These past few episodes were great, but they feel like such a cocktease in that it kind of felt like they were stalling a bit before the main event. I was getting frustrated, but now it seems the next episode starts off the most epic fight currently in Naruto, so yeah, next week should be awesome.

 

Fem!Summoner Pein was hot, though. I'd so tap that. Ino, on the other hand, was ugly as hell. What the heck did they do to her?

IMHO, since Naruto seems to be losing the battle against the Kyuubi, Kishi is repeating himself and she is an imprint too. If that's the case maybe he should take a break and get some new ideas.

Hopefully, scanlation will released shortly and we'll know for sure.

Honesty, I'd rather this be the case. It lends some credibility to the Kyuubi.

Decent chapter; it is kind of nice to have Kushina show up just because so far she has been fairly undeveloped compared to Minato. About all we really know about her is that Naruto inherited a fair chunk of her personality and her love for ramen. Fleshing out his mother a bit more won't hurt anything as long as it is done well (and so far, IMO, this arc has been pretty well-written).

 

Ah yeah, good chapter. The Nine-Tails didn't turn out to be a total wuss and Naruto actually threw the fucking Nine-Tails and actually managed to do some damage with the Rasen-Shuriken. Awesome!

And Naruto's mother finally appears. I hope there won't be a flashback and whatever plot needs to be resolved with Kushina gets done quickly. Seeing the ease with which Naruto entered Sage-mode there, I'm thinking he's finally bridged the gap between being great and being a legend. Some even more epic battles should soon follow.

 

So this is kind of interesting but unless I'm interpreting things wrong and it was all just a hallucination, did Kishimoto just give canon justification for those retarded fics where the villagers all gang up on Naruto and call him a demon and a monster and tell him to leave the village yadda yadda yadda?

On the fight very cool fight, good to see Naruto finally unleash but I was wtfing when his Mom appeared, as mentioned earlier I sincerely hope he didnt just rehash the same old plot again.

 

Well...I'm hoping.
There was a slide some chapters back where Naruto is thinking about how he needs to get faster at entering Sage mode. And since this is shonen manga that makes a habit of dropping bombs on our laps suddenly...

 

I just watched the Pain invasion episodes in the Anime and wow... some of those jutsus are just ridiculous.

Iron Maiden by Ibiki turned out to be the fortune cat, Kakashi's mud wall has dog head adorning it, and one of the white anbu guy's earth techniques has this stamp/statue with board faces on it squish a giant dog?!

You mean when he threw Kyuubi? That wasn't in his mind.... Right? or am I missing something important.

I thought the only thing that happened in his mind was that he saw all the people of Konoha against him, and he couldn't control the nine tails chakra so he started hating everything.

And we've seen that same scene of all of Konoha against him before right? When he was rescuing Gaara from Akatsuki, so its not anything new.

 

Everything that happened in this chapter was in his head.
