Uhmm I think the the people of Konoha treated him like shit because almost nobody knew about, that Kushina and Mito were Jinchurriki's.

I mean even Kushina didn't knew about that she was to beacome the next Jinchurriki.

And I think Jinchurriki = treated like shit, it's the law!

I agree. All of his abilities would have been at their peak and unlike his comrades, not only was his body augmented through techniques and experimentation but he also swapped them every three years eliminating any disadvantage of an aged body.

Couldn't say he was equal to or stronger than Itachi though since he's admitted before that he couldn't defeat him and I remember Sasuke saying at one point post-timeskip that neither himself nor Orochimaru were strong enough to defeat Itachi.

Yeah, Itachi over Orochimaru, but not by a huge way. I would say Orochimaru < Itachi < Jiraiya.

A fight between them would be awesome to see though.

Honestly, I think that Jiraiya showed himself to be way, way stronger than any of us thought he would be, given his rivalry with Oro.

    Poor Orochimaru.

He would've beaten Nagato if he knew the secret, straight from Nagato's lips.

Plus he made Itachi outright flee from him. If he's strong enough to make Itachi flee, then he's pretty strong.

I'm looking forward to seeing what oro!Kabuto will be able to do. Him joining Madara has stretched the manga out far longer than we thought it was going to be.

I still have nfi how Naruto will be able to defeat Madara at all. Sasuke should've died when team 7 caught up with him. There's no way Sasuke will be able to keep up with Naruto now that he can control the power of the nine-tails.

Im not saying they are equal Im saying they are in the same area. If it was not for his illness Itachi would still be alive. A healthy Itachi would have whipped they floor with just about everyone except the guys I listed. Itachi was said to be nearly invincible and unlike Sasuke who simply pulled these powers out of his ass, Itachi had years to practice.

And Itachi has beaten Orochimaru before. Thats why Orochimaru wanted Sasuke because he couldnt get Itachi's body.

    @Howdy

I agree, I believe Jiraiya by the end was far superior to nearly everyone else we have seen. If Jiraiya could back right now, Im saying he could take out Sasuke, Naruto, and anyone else who pissed him off. Going with the Kinsley, Moody, and Dumbledore thing. Im saying Minato is Kingsley(simply because he died so soon), Nagato is Moody, and Jiraiya is Dumbledore.

    The comparisons don't really work.

The weird thing is, if Orochimaru actually got Sasuke's body, he'd only have three years to use it and then he would lose the bloodline.

Thinking about comparison between HP and Naruto I would said that Minato is James Potter, who supposed to be very good with transfiguration but died to young to be better than Dumbledore. Nagato is Tom Riddle, almost at Dumbledore level but still lacking something, yet had few aces in slaves (Horcruxes like with 6 Paths) that let him win. Jiraiya stay as Dumbledore. And Harry definitely wouldn't be Naruto, because Potter was lazy kid who didn't even think about training to get better and was lucky enough to only follow path to victory planned by Dumbledore ;) .

Don't worry, I'm sure that with his brother eyes he will have few new powers that will make him powerful enough to face Naruto controling nine-tails.

Also, because I forgot, was it ever said what sickness had Itachi and how he got it?

I dunno, I don't think it's a simple one-two comparison. I think it's a lot also about personal weaknesses and how they exploit them and match up against them. i.e. instead of a<b<c, it's more of a beats b, b beats c, c beats a kind of thing. Not going to comment on specific power levels of Jiraiya or Itachi or anything, but I just think that that kind of comparison is not really valid.

Then again, I may be wrong. After all, wouldn't be the first time I expected more depth from the manga than I got.

    From Narutopedia:
The world wide game "scissors, paper, stone" originated from China during the Eastern Han Dynasty, invented by the warlords of that period. Except instead of paper, they used the open palm symbol to represent cloth, so it's "Scissors, Stone, Cloth". The game reached Japan in the early 1640s and one variation of the game was the "Slug, Snake, Frog" variation. In this variation, the Frog is afraid of the Snake, the Snake is afraid of the Slug, and the Slug is afraid of the Frog. This is influenced by the Sansukumi way of thinking where it keeps the three objects in a deadlock. The fact that the Sannin use these three animals as summons may be the author hinting that there is no stronger one among them, and that their strength is more or less equal.

Nah, I think we decided earlier on in this thread that Orochimaru's jutsu works so that he has to wait three years before he can change bodies. He was doing perfectly fine in his Random McNinja body until Naruto showed up and poisoned him with Kyuubi chakra, so my bet is that he could have lived out that body's life if nothing had been done to damage it. Also means he could have done the same with Sasuke's body.

Sure this seems realistic before the time skip. We only had their legends to go on, and only saw them in 1 real battle. However after time skip we see just how powerful Jiraiya is. Jiraiya would tear the other two apart with sage mode and I wouldnt be too suprised if he could have done so without sage mode.

The new chapter is up on MangaStream.

    I really didn't mind it.

It explained (again) why Kyuubi attaked Konoha, and Minato was awesome - his Hiraishin was shown as pretty much a teleport. The big surprise is that Kushina lived - at least a bit! - after the Kyuubi was extracted. Foreshadowing?

Chapter was a great buildup and we find out a little bit about why Naruto doesn't stop trying: It's motherfucking genetics.

A lot of leadup, not much actually happened. Minato saves Naruto, teleports Naruto away, Minato saves Kushina, Minato teleports to face Madara with Kyuubi on the way to attack Kohona.

I wanted to see a little bit of fighting. =/

I'm pretty sure his eye was an eternal technique, the one he uses to control the Kyuubi. Sasuke only stopped Naruto using the Kyuubi, he didn't control it. Must need the Eternal to control the Kyuubi. Sasuke will have the Eternal now that he has Itachi's eyes and will be all WTF once he realises Naruto can control Kyuubi now.

Way too much of a leadup with Sasuke. I think Kishi is going to somehow tie the Kyuubi being sealed to Sasuke and Naruto to bring them closer.

No, just no. They are close enough as it is. Any more closer and I would need to agree with Naruto/Sasuke shippers. ;)
